Kate Sage Magnum

CptHilts 7

Mulligan? I don’t mulligan if I see a Magnum. So far, I mulligan if I don’t see a magnum.

Economy Currently I have quick economy of magnum and the drip of 3x data folding and 3x underworld contracts. With only one Dyson installed underworld works and there should always be at least 2 memory free to keep sage strong so data folding should always work. Early and mid game I will get the drip installed ASAP. Late game I will be more hesitant depending on my credit count and whether I need to apply pressure or if I have a click to spare to install. Having 3 to 5 of these installed late game has been huge in several matches.

Memory as economy. This deck’s open memory is it economy. Installing all the extra memory means I don’t have to boost strength for each ice I encounter.

Breakers 2x Sage - I love the art on sage. I also really like how I don’t have to pay to boost strength. Well I really am paying of course in memory install but I pay it once. The down side is the 2 creds to break a sub but I have e3 to help with that. And of course if I don’t have the memory I can’t boost strength. I have considered helpful AI for emergencies but recently I added 2x memstrips. Currently Sage can get to strength 13 with a fully installed memory suite and programs. The only issue there would be if the opponent knows its coming and they can advance an ice past this point. The alternative is David with 3 copies of scavenge but I’m trying straight memory for strength to see how it works. 2x Creeper - pairs nicely with sage because it won’t cost memory with 2 or more link which the deck should get fairly quickly. 3x E3 - its important to get e3 installed quickly because it makes runs a lot cheaper.

Card draw 3x Diesel - Just a click to dig into the deck is great. It can be a little tough when I need to get to a breaker but I end up getting too many expensive rig cards I can’t install in the turn. 3x Earthrise hotel - I love this card. Drip draws for 3 turns. It works great with Kate because there is a lot of rig to set up so they can come out in ones and twos so I can keep buffing my R&D interface or building my memory while keeping it cheep.

Chakana - I am having a little trouble with Chakana. I like what it does, slowing down the corp but it doesn’t feel that effective and it can be purged. This deck will be running R&D anyway so its not pulling away from what the deck should be doing but it doesn’t change the way the corp plays which is what I want it to do.

Defense Feedback - Good for Jinteki of course but also helpful for HB brain damage and cerebral overwrite splash. Of course knowing when to install for cerebral splash is tough. 2x Plascrete - with Weyland kill deck being so popular it feels like it makes sense. And lote of the NEH decks look to kill with

Why both? Because I want to stay flexible. I have lots of card draw in the deck so hopefully it mitigates having 4 cards in there for defense.

Other strategies I’ve played:

Economy - I tried Kati but it always seemed to be too slow when paired with other drip economy.

David - As I mentioned before i works great because i don;t have to worry about sage past str 5 but its got a limited number of runs, its another point of memory, and it requires scavenge to use multiple times.

Quality time - Just too much at once. I want to install most of my deck, I have very few dead cards so it makes it tough to quality time and not discard at the end of the turn.

HQ interface - I more recently have gone with Legwork. It was pointed out to me that I can save the HQ runs for when I feel the pressure building in my opponents hand. So I don’t need to hit HQ as often and legwork is cheaper.

Help! I’m looking for feedback. What am I missing? What cards should I consider adding? What don’t I need? Help me with the Chakana issue. I like what I think it does but maybe it doesn’t really do it right
