Space is big, really big

Well first off, hello,

This is my first deck I've published. Enjoy reading and any thoughts or advise would be appreciate, I've been playing for about a year but I've not joined any Tournaments or groups yet (my main meta consists of my Girlfriend and about 3 mates who are slowly getting into the game) and so I've not experienced many other play style. Also apologies for the length of this description.

When O&C came out I wanted to make a Gagarin Deep Space: Expanding the Horizondeck, the ability looked ok and the fact it was a space station was cool. Original this deck was based around a Helium-3 Deposit and Docklands Crackdown combo which was fun annoying for the runner (to the extent I had cards hidden from me) but far to slow and did not work towards winning the game. Although funny story the deck annoyed my girlfriend (the main other person I play Netrunner with) so much that she did about 4 cards from the deck. I didn't notice the missing cards until 2 plays latter against a mate, so I guess at lest the deck was frustrating. Below are a few explanations for some of the choices

Agenda Suite:

Gila Hands Arcology is the result of wanting a 1 point agenda to use as bait or archer food. Originally this was Chronos Project but I never found it much help when scored. As for Hostile Takeover it’s a good agenda but I feel it just counters the ID’s ability.

Utopia Fragment is an Agenda I just really like, if scored it can just make the runners live hard work. I don't play expecting to have it but if I get it then woot.

High-Risk Investment is just a fun way to mooch off the runners success (and hopeful SEA Source them). I was hoping to have 2 but the others are in another deck that I can’t currently dismantle.

Priority Requisition A good 3/5 which I will probably swap out for a High-Risk Investment once I get a change.

Econ:

Original the asset econ suite consisted of 2xCapital Investors , 2xThe Root and 1 copy of Melange Mining Corp.. The idea being that Capital Investors can produce credits at a pace I control whereas The Root provides the recurring credits that will most likely be used to rez ice or sometimes advance a card when the Runner thinks you can’t, it’s also a small defense against Account Siphon.

After listening to the latest episode of SanSan South I thought about adding Private Contracts as it works smiley to Capital Investors but is 1 more to rez and has limited funds but is more taxing for the runner to trash. For now I've swapped out the Melange Mining Corp. for a Private Contracts . The Melange Mining Corp only gets you 1 more credit after 3 compared to Capital Investors when compared to Private Contracts.

ICE:

This is the part I’ve struggled with the most and every time I look at the deck list I question my options. One obvious issue is that a lot of the ICE are the same strength making them Atman bait. I have tried to go for a range of ice type, Changeling for instance is in the deck to supplement both barriers and sentries

Ichi 1.0 is mainly in the deck to add some program trashing. It might be worth changing it to Nebula

RSVP is for adding to the Runners running tax.

Lotus Field I wanted a hard end the run that wasn’t a barrier

Taurus is only used when I think I can catch the runner out and destroy a valuable bit of hardware and I find it more reliable than #shatterd remains

Chimera is used a bit of an adhoc solution to stop the runner earlier on

Wall of Thorns was put in for two reasons. It has some teeth which is unexpected when the runner has been face checking less painful ice. It was also added to replace a Hadrian's Wall Wall as I found I was always discarding them down to their high cost.

General Strategy:

Depending on the runner I have found this deck can be played in two general ways. If the starting hand and runner warrant it I’ve found you can get away with a Supermodernism style of play. But the more planned way for this deck to be played is with 1 or 2 defended remote servers, 1 scouring server, 1 lightly defended server and then a few unprotected serves (Jackson Howard,Private Contracts).

Interns usually used to get Econ Assets out the trash and most often undo the runner’s good work.

I think so far the deck has won equally between SEA Source + Scorched Earth combo and straight out scoring agenda. I’ve probably played about 10 games and won about 9 but these numbers don’t really mean much as the meta I’m is quite small and the diversity of players is limited (but it’s getting bigger).

Ideas for Future Changes: After seeing Quinns Gagarin deck I have been thinking about putting some space ice into the deck, maybe an Orion and a Nebula but I worry that not having some sort of system to advance them could slow the deck down more.

I have been thinking of trying to fit in a couple of Breaker Bay Grids. Although the asset count in the deck is not that high making all those assets 0 or 1 to rez (The Root for 1!) is very tempting. Also more upgrades would be nice to tax the runner.

I’ve also been thinking about swapping things about a bit so 1 or 2 Ash 2X3ZB9CY could be added. Finally I might replace one or two of the Ice Walls with Meru Mati . I think the 1 extra is worth the balance when you put one on HQ.

Anyway I hope this hasn't been too bad a read and thanks for looking at my deck.
