Valencia DLR

This is my take on the DLR mill deck. Draw like crazy and set up your resources as quickly as possible. Mulligan for Paige Piper as she greatly speeds up your set up time. Blackmail agenda remote plays to keep the corp honest. Siphon spam to keep them too poor to even think about trashing your resources. And then either mill them to death or mill and blackmail when you think the game is in Archives if they'd otherwise score out.

This took 2nd at a GNK, going undefeated, along with my corp deck, until a double loss in the final round against the tournament winner.

In previous weeks I had run two Fisk Investment Seminars instead of two copies of The Source, but I always struggled against anyone with a FA option, like NEH or ETF because they would score out before I could close the game out. Adding The Source had a HUGE impact on those matchups and I think it was absolutely the right call.

Round 1 was against NEH butchershop. I played fairly conservatively, getting my resources up and making runs only as necessary. He managed to score a Beale before I got The Source down, so after that he had to install advance behind an ice to try to score and get rid of it. I blackmailed, got Midseasoned but then he was broke and couldn't do damage that turn. Then I played Paparazzi, kept recurring Siphon, and with Fall Guys and WNPs, there was no way he could damage me so I milled him to death.

Round 2 was against Argus. Paparazzi was fantastic in this matchup, essentially nullifying their ID ability. Siphons kept them too poor to react, Source forced install advance for him to hope to score agendas, signaling where to blackmail up until he managed to clear the Bad Pub, and after that I milled him to death.

Round 3 was against ETF Hybrid FA/Glacier. He got a really rough start, mulliganing into 1 ice which went on HQ. So during the first few turns R&D was open and I managed to score a Vitruvious and Director Haas' Pet Project. Once that hole was plugged, I got to work on my resources, and we raced to 7 points. I blackmailed Archives, accessing 10 milled cards with no agendas. Two more turns of milling ensued, and he reached 6 points. Finally I blackmailed Archives again for the win.

Round 4 was against standard Glacier RP. Turn one he Celebrity Gifts and I see Nisei as well as Tollbooth which went on HQ. Free R&D accesses came up dry, and I tried to set up my resource tableau. Played an inject and he saw DLR and was able to guess what my deck wanted to do. I didn't ever see Vigil, so I had to spend a lot of clicks to draw, and I only saw one WNP, so he was too rich for me to go full in milling for long, so my setup was much slower than in my other games. My opponent played expertly, putting upgrades on HQ so I couldn't land a single Siphon and using EBC to rez ice on the scoring remote. Overall, a great game though.

If you've never played a DLR deck like this, give it a whirl and tell me what you think!
