5th place NZ nationals NEH astrobiotics (up to UoT)

triorph 902

This is a fairly typical NEH fast advance deck, with biotic labour, sansan city grid, astroscript pilot program, shipment from sansan. 2 CVS to help with clot, and also because of the heavy anarch meta. Clot ruins this deck so hard that I think 2 CVS is a good call even without the heavy anarch meta.

This went 4-1 in swiss, where the only loss was a devastating defeat due to drawing no ice. This is the risk you take when running a deck so light on ice. I was able to beat PPVP kate, Valencia, Geist, and Noise.

In elimination, this was able to beat Geist but got knocked out by Valencia due to some unfortunate R&D accesses.

Team sponsorship is great, recur your CVS, SanSan city grid, or just install ice for cheap. Product placement is also a lot of fun. They might access it randomly from R&D, or you can bluff it into any server, or just stack them over a sansan city grid to put yourself in a strong position when they try to trash it. I played around a few times with bluffing agendas in the product placement remotes but it never worked out well for me.

My feeling with this deck is it blitzes wins out against most players, but when you lose it feels like you had the worst luck ever. This is probably a side effect of the card choices making the deck unreliable.

Games: Swiss: Round 1 vs Amber's PPVP Kate: Win agenda points. Round 2 vs Ben's SMC Valencia: Win agenda points. Round 3 vs Andrew's Geist: Win agenda points. Round 4 vs William's Noise: Lose agenda points. Round 5 vs David's Noise: Win agenda points.

Elimination: Round 1 vs Andrew's Geist: Win agenda points. Round 2 vs Ben's SMC Valencia: Lose agenda points.

Interesting to see no fast track.

Yeah Fast Track was in my early iterations of this deck, but it was usually a dead draw. I was always worried that using it would telegraph "Run HQ" (which is nearly always bad against this deck). Typically you would draw plenty of agendas during a game, and run so fast that you don't need more (even though you would really prefer the astroscripts). If they've got r&d lock you've probably already lost from playing too slow (or not drawing ice, as sometimes luck just happens).
