Death, By Any Other Name v1.0

I'm not the kind of person that usually plays kill decks. I like the desperate struggle to the end caused by scoring agendas, but this deck's method of murder is so refined that even though it nearly manages to score enough points every game, it never wins that way.

Philosophy

To the bitter end

This deck is all about the measured pace of death. The runner knows it's coming with Jinteki: Personal Evolution but with this deck they don't know how.

So far while playing it I've killed a runner at least once with every type of damage, and that's what's so brilliant about it. Eventually during the game the runner will be forced to make a choice about how they want to die, be it shock to the head, rocket from the sky, or in an epic mind battle.

Despite death the deck supports a strong economy, in the form of Gila Hands Arcology, Celebrity Gift, Hedge Fund and Medical Research Fundraiser. Yes Medical Research Fundraiser. Many people are sceptical about this card but after playing it in this deck I can happy advocate that it is a worth it, in the right situation.

Medical Research Fundraiser gives the runner money when you get money, this seems like a bad thing at first, but actually it's not. This is a deck where you want the runner to be able to get in. You want them to pass your Kitsune and take damage from a Snare! and take the tag, you want them to get to the Fetal AI and waste the money they just got on trying to score it. You don't care what the runner does with their cash, you care what they do with their cards.

Notable Mentions

Cerebral Cast: This is what this deck is all about. I've killed runners with the brain damage of this thing because they knew, at the end, that they had no choice. It comes down to the old brain damage, Scorched Earth question. This card works in tandem with Neural EMP and Scorched to deal that finishing blow.

Celebrity Gift: Fear is your best defence, show them what to be afraid of, show them Snare!, show them Scorched Earth. They're dead anyway.

Ichi 1.0: You know that last subroutine on Ichi that no one cares about. If the runner hasn't seen your game plan yet you can hit them with this and literally be laughing.

Kitsune: Perhaps the best addition to Jinteki during the Lunar Cycle, this card gives you the power to command death to the runner when you want it to happen. Timing is everything.

Closed Accounts: So they hit a Snare? Give them money, then take it away. Then kill them. Just for fun.

Possible Changes

Philotic Entanglement: Rather than 2 Braintrust, this card can help to deal some more net damage occasionally.

SanSan City Grid: Take away the Scorched Earth and play this as fast advance. It will work almost as well.
