Demolition Derby v1.3

paddosan 3413

Quite simple but effective deck, obviously aiming at HQ. Demolition Run can seriously cripple a Corp, and if you do it twice in the same turn, you could deplete HQ of all cards. Three copies of HQ Interface mainly to draw them often, since using a DR for just one card ain't optimal at all.

The other half of the deck is aimed at derezzing the big pieces of ICE as not to spend a lot of money, or at making the Corp pay at least twice the price for them. Inside Job and Running Interference basically work very similarly, in practice allowing you a free run more often than not. And 4 credits is no issue with Prepaid VoicePADs.

Prepaid VoicePAD works well with any event in the deck except Emergency Shutdown, but it is especially true for Dirty Laundry and Sure Gamble.

Economy works with very little here, but I noticed while playing that you don't need much, with Desperado, Kati Jones and possible recursion of Sure Gamble and Dirty Laundry.

I think there's a few key cards missing here. First would be Account Siphon, especially as you're running x3 SOT. You're economy is also quite light, so Account Siphons will double up as a nice way to keep your cash levels high. Your problem currently is having a viable run target in order to make all your cash, if the corp has their servers locked down hard, you have no way of making money. It might be worth trying some Daily Casts or Easy Marks to help you when you're in a losing board position. Equally, with Gabe, I will almost always run 2-3x Sneakdoor. As you're running x3 HQ Interface, I would suggest that it is even more important for you to do the same. Would be tempted to drop 1x VoicePAD, 1x SOT, 2x Running Interference, 1x HQ Interface, 1x Crescentus and 1-2x FAO. This will free up room to bring in the above as well as maybe some Mr Li (to speed up draw) or some Faeries so you can face check with impunity.

Feel free to tell me to shut up though :)

Account Siphon is so much of a classic that I decided to change and not include it. It would definitely add to the deck, but considering I always play it... Not that removing their cards is any better than removing 5 of their credts anyway!

The economy however doesn't really need much help. The Icebreakers are quite efficient and you have means to derez ICE that might prove too expensive to repeatedly break. Not to mention FAO that's always a pain.

Easy Marks would go against Prepaid VoicePAD being another event at cost 0, while Daily Casts is nice, but not exactly worth it for just 5 credits gained over 4 turns. I'd have to remove more interesting cards for it.

Equally, with Gabe, I will almost always run 2-3x Sneakdoor. As you're running x3 HQ Interface, I would suggest that it is even more important for you to do the same.

I had Sneakdoor Beta in the previous versions of the deck, but it won't work with any Run event and memory is an issue, I can either use SB or Crescentus. Sure, forcing the Corp into protecting one more server

This will free up room to bring in the above as well as maybe some Mr Li (to speed up draw) or some Faeries so you can face check with impunity.

Mr. Li could be useful here, but one single copy might not be enough, althought I could possibly add 2 Hostage and bring Kati to 1 copy only... Faeries are always good, but not much space for them either unfortunately.

Crescentus proved to be quite useful, and now that there's a lot of illicit ICE, even more so! Last ICE I used it upon was a Muckracker... :D

Feel free to tell me to shut up though :)

Always up for constructive discussion! :)

Looks fun!

My only problem is this deck is really all-in on HQ access, which is automatically going to be heavily defended against Gabe. I suspect it may well work better in another faction that traditionally accesses HQ less.

I have done Demo Run + Nerve Agent in Shaper before and it can work really well, as its not uncommon to use SMC to pull of a surprise quadruple-HQ-run. Could probably be done pretty well in Anarch as well.

You're kidding, right? Anarchs invented that trick :P

Indeed, but it's unfortunate that once again, other factions do "Anarch things" better. :(
