Grail Foundry

AV8R 26

I wanted to try building a deck around Grail Ice. There are 4 out now, so this includes all of them - 12 Ice there. Foundry is a good ID to try this with because it lets you easily tutor for more Grail when you rez one of them. After my first couple runs with it I realized I needed more small ice, and multiple copies of each, to get the maximum benefit from Foundry. With that going on Blue Level Clearance was too heavy, I just included Green. Acc. Beta Test works well with the ice (installing tall stacks of them!), and the fragments actually work pretty well to keep things protected. Adonis and Eve are pretty easy to protect with the set-up, and IT, Levy and Edge work pretty well with this lineup also. It's undefeated against my bro-in-law's untested runner decks so far. :)

Hello,

Edge of World is a great choice.

Yet I doubt Levy University suits the deck as it is redundant with ID's ability.

I would strongly suggest -1 Edge of World, -2 Levy University, +2 Executive Boot Camp, +1 Peak Efficiency.

Boot camp would allow you to rez a piece of ICE even if the Runner does not run any server, thus adding an extra Grail in hand.

Finally, Jackson Howard should be considered since you have no protection against a failed Accelerated Beta Test

@Him true they have no protection against a full failed ABT however if theirs one ICE the ID can be used to stop the other cards going into archive.

@AV8R I agree though with Levy University it's abit pointless your going to be getting so much ICE as it is, Also id drop the Excalibur it's not that much use and with no upgrades Hudson 1.0 seems abit useless most of the time he'll be ignored.

@Pinkwarrior Yes but ABT is dangerous with this ID. Tutoring pieces of ICE from R&D decreases their density, and favors the odds of a blanked-fired ABT.

Plus it increases Agenda density in the process, which makes the deck vulnerable to The Maker's Eye or Indexing etc...

So I agree that Hudson 1.0 or Architect is a good call.

Hmm, yes, Levy is probably useless here, I haven't actually needed it so far. I haven't used IT either, but feel it still has a place. Retreat and Boot Camp seem like good ideas. Hudson saved my bacon from a Maker's Eye for sure. I will try to figure out something other than ABT...if I get 2x of a 3-point agenda, plus an econ card, that would boost my ice install capacity enough to make it up, I think. Maybe I will try subbing Architect for Hudson 1.0. It has a little broader value.

@Him True enough it dose leave you with a lower density of ICE, I think id rather have Ash 2X3ZB9CY over Hudson 1.0 ash has more utility and on non multi access runs is still useful.

I think Architect is probably the better call though it's never going to get ignored and can fit the same roll.
