She Came In Through The Bathroom Window

Fortunasown 175

...just to find her silver spoon.

Version 1 of this deck, obvously not tournament ready. This is what I will be play testing while waiting on order and Chaos to get here.

Best name for a deck ever. You win the internet good sir.

Thinking of running something similar upon the release of Order and Chaos, though I think I'd probably pack 1x Cyber Cypher for early pressure while you get into torch range. Lockpick as an economy card is really interesting and I'd be tempted to find room for 1x Refractor just for those occasions it all comes together early doors.

Probably still a little econ light, maybe you could ditch 1x clone chip and 1x Astrolabe for 2x Kati Jones (clone chip won't be doing much once you're setup here)?

Overall though, I like it and think with a little polish it could do quite well.

From past experience, I've found that 5 tutors (2xTest Run and 3x SMC) is not enough to get your singleton breakers on time. I admit that Omega, Femme Fatale and Torch are interchangeable in the early game, but they still cost 7-9 creds if you can't cheat them on the board with Test Run + Scavenge. I do agree with Chimpster, packing Cyber Cyphers / Refractors would help a great deal (I'd even put 3 of them in there).

Please post back your impressions once you've tested Spoon, I can't wait to see if it works with Kit! (I'm sure we're not the only people excited about this :p )

I quite like the 3x Cyber-Cypher setup as well, amazingly good early doors, with the potential for hard R&D lock with the right deck setup (would probably go for all 3 R&DI's).

Poor economy. 1x Kati Jones with no tutor. Paintbrush is a wasted card slot IMO.

Thanks for the comments! I mainly posted it because I love the name. As I said it's not "there" yet, not expecting this iteration to pan out. It's the Econ and card draw/tutoring I need to get set. I really don't think I need more than 1 Kati, rather have some other form of burst econ than extra copies of Kati. I am not looking for her to start my game anyway. Paintbrush is in fact there for the second pass of this deck, after a Levi, but I understand th criticism, I've yet to find a deck paintbrush really holds its water in.

Refractor or Cyber-Cypher is a must to pose any threat early on.

-1 Astrolabe -2 Clone Chip

+1 Test Run +1 Refractor + 1 R&D Interface

I would maybe go further for: 0x Clone Chip (so yet another -1) -1x Self-modifying Code +1 Kati Jones +1 R&D Interface (= 3 total)

Personal Workshop or Professional Contacts could be considered as well.

HAHAHAHAHA! Before I looked at the username I was about to comment that I play with someone who was going to use this EXACT deck...but you're that person @Fortunasown, so I guess it makes sense. :)

Did I mention having played against him, using Kit, that I'm a bit scared of what Spoon will bring? It's like an instant Parasite for Kit in a way.

Please let us know how this does, as I'm very curious if spoon x3 is actually better than x2 data sucker and x2 parasite. The parasite version comes in at 3 influence less and works with Sharpers program centric tools, but spoon is cheaper and much easier to pull off...

On Paintbrush discussion, if it doesn't work in this deck, then I'm convinced it never will - nothing can be more suited for it than a Kit deck with Spooned. Personally I think Paintbrush will do some great work here, but I wonder if it still needs a stronger 'end game' in the shape of R&D annihilation. Deck space is tight, but would love to just hammer R&D the whole game long, spooning any ICE that touches it and tinkering the rest. The more I look at it, the more I'm thinking that 3x RDI is probably going to be essential.

On the 2x Spooned comment, not too sure on this, personally I would love to find room for a mimic here so I think that's where my 1 influence would go, but truth be told, spooned is just straight up better then parasite in this deck. Instant destruction of the first ice hit for 2c is a bargain (and memory free) and I think that 3x Spooned is probably the right call.

I think my list would go as follows:

Kit: O&C WIP

Rielle "Kit" Peddler: Transhuman (Creation and Control)

Event (20) 3x Diesel (Core Set) 3x Dirty Laundry (Creation and Control) 2x Scavenge (Creation and Control) 3x Spooned (Order and Chaos) ••••• •••• 3x Sure Gamble (Core Set) 3x Test Run (Cyber Exodus) 3x Tinkering (Core Set)

Hardware (7) 2x Astrolabe (Up and Over) 1x Clone Chip (Creation and Control) 1x Plascrete Carapace (What Lies Ahead) 3x R&D Interface (Future Proof)

Resource (8) 2x Kati Jones (Humanity's Shadow) 3x Professional Contacts (Creation and Control) 3x Same Old Thing (Creation and Control)

Icebreaker (5) 1x Cerberus "Lady" H1 (All That Remains) 1x Cyber-Cypher (Creation and Control) 1x Sharpshooter (True Colors) 1x Torch (Mala Tempora) 1x Yog.0 (Core Set) •

Program (5) 2x Paintbrush (Double Time) 3x Self-modifying Code (Creation and Control)

10 influence spent (max 10) 45 cards (min 45) Cards up to Order and Chaos

Still not quite right, like the inclusion of Escher as HQ pressure and Levy to stick the Spooneds back in, deck space is definitely tight. Really want another Cyber-Cypher atm - tempted to drop the sharpshooter for it, utterly essential.

How about getting rid of the Test Runs and Scavenge for 3x Code Siphon?

I realise that there would be a distinct lack of recursion as a result but the extra 2 cards could go on 2x Cyber-Cypher allowing for a better early game (and to actually reliably hit with Code Siphon). At the very least it makes the deck less combo reliant.

Interesting idea @Chimpster I will definetly try it out. My main hesitation against including it was needing a successful run to turn it on, but it may work. Oddly enough I have found many cards that don't work as well in other shaper decks can work well in kit. Social Engineering for example often creates lose/lose scenarios for the corp in Kit due to the importance of positioning. I'm going to play around with it, test the strengths of what I have. I'm hoping what I actually need will become clear with play.

13 Jan 2015 calimn

Doesn't Spooned get shut down by Architect when it's the outermost piece of ice?

13 Jan 2015 calimn

I suppose there are ways around it, you play spooned on your second run and paintbrush the second piece of ice.

13 Jan 2015 Fortunasown

Fem may help, that was part of the thought. Also if I have the wording right, if you allowed architect to fire, or one sub of it to fire, spooned would take out the next code gate provided you broke all of it. But, Escher can also help with a poorly placed architect.

Paintbrush serves no purpose in this deck and you can get the exact same functionality with Tinkering, which you already have.

Omega (and Alpha) are among the worst cards ever printed. You can't salvage them, so don't even try. It would be one thing if they had a high strength to match their downside (similar to cyber-cypher), but they don't.

You have a lot of support cards to recur Cerberus. I've played decks like that before, and that's ok but I feel like it's better to play 2 Cerberus cards.

What's your overall game plan here? I've thought about doing something similar, but my idea is to just destroy ice on R&D and go for multi-access. You have only 1 RDI, no Maker's, no Indexing.

14 Jan 2015 Fortunasown

No real stratagy yet, as I've said from the outset this is a rough draft more than a ready to go deck. I'm trying out an idea and seeing just how far I can push it. I'm trying to see if I can run with just Torch and omega. Fem and lady are just there for back-up if that fails. Clone chips are going to be the first thing to go, they were hold overs from the parasite version, and a version that had deus and sharpshooter. When I see how far that can be pushed before crumbling under its own weight I'll likely swap to a more standard breaker set-up.

I do appreciate the comments and criticisms though, keep 'em coming. They'll help when I start solidifying things.

14 Jan 2015 Bananifier

I've been thinking about a Spoon Kit for some time, and I think I'll try it with 2xSpooned and 1xParasite (with the adequate recursion). The reason is simple: I fear Pop-up Window. Worst enemy of Kit, and it's even exacerbated with Spooned.

14 Jan 2015 Fortunasown

2 and 1 might well be worth it with pop-up or quandary on the table. However remember the wording on Spooned and paying the toll on pop-up does not equall breaking it.

14 Jan 2015 Fortunasown

Long way down the road, but the more I consider it, the more I think Comet may be the perfect console for this deck.

I've got a new version together. Practice shuffles suggested this was just too loose, even for testing. I was hoping to keep it loose and see which bolts needed tightening and which should be abandoned, but such is life. So I simmered it down and focused on what I wanted to see work or fail.

Dropped Lady, Fem, all the clone chips, 2 copies of Astrolabe and a scavenge. Added a Professional Contacts, 3 Earthrise Hotel and a second RDI. I'll play it a few times and tell you what I think.

Blarg. And 3 Armitage Code Busting.
