Government Security

Exo 355

Hello fella, this is my attempt on a Government Takeover oriented deck. After a while of deckbuilding and looking around to what Argus could be, I started despited the PE model of it and I start looking at its inner strengths:

  • Crippling the runner over time, and maybe end it up.
  • Tagging the runner multiple times.

So here I am now, a deck that is a lot versatile and that take out the best of every situation. The ultimate goal of the deck is for sure to score a Government Takeover! But hey, this is not what your going to win most of your games with.

Most game gonna end up in a kill, that's for sure. Your the baddest Weyland ID after all. :)

Trashing programs: HouseKeeping + Archer + Taurus + Wormhole + tags ressources trashing are all helping to force the runner into cycling is deck faster and loosing some opportunity over time. My only regret is that I wasn't able to fit Power Shutdown.

SE and DRT: They are your main way to kill as soon as a opportunity shows up. False Lead and Data Raven combined with Argus ability is going to help you to open more ways to make use of them. Also, don't forget that you can still win via the old fashion way: Posted Bounty into double Schorch!

Gorvernment Takeover: In order to score it, your basically gonna need 90% of the time a overadvanced Project Atlas. you'll always want it with at least two tokens because you need a lot of combo pieces to achieve this score. The main scenario that gonna trigger the possiblity to score GT is by using Psychographics. You'll have this chance if the runner decide to go tag me or if you can land Midseason. Don't get me wrong here, there is so much tags constriction in the deck that many runner will end up going tag me at some point.

You need to remember that the runner can always steal the agenda and remove the tags on is next click. That is why False Lead can help a lot along with a Wormhole duplicating the first subs of Enigma. Even if you can't prevent this to happen, you still taxs them and force them to run in specific timing which it all play into your favors.

I am going to try this next week when I gonna have my box. :)

This is almost exactly like the Argus that I was thinking up! :D

I did a few things differently (Punitives, a bit less ICE, only Asset was Jackson), but the main idea was the same. Have multiple win conditions or tempo threats, and force the runner into having a little respect for all servers. The real trick is going to be finding a balance so that no matter the runner, they're going to have an awfully hard time coming away victorious.

One thing I forgot to mention above, is that I think Checkpoint will have a place in a deck like this. I'm trying out 2 in mine when I do finally build it (will no doubt test on OCTGN first).

@esutter479 Hey thanks for the comments buddy! :) About Checkpoint. I used to have it in but my main concern about it is that it have counter synergy with Hostile Takeover and that I feared to need more money. I didn't tested this out yet so I might be fine on the money side but for sure Checkpoint is a card to try!

My main concern is not having the space for Power Shutdown, that's what I'll be looking to change if I find the space for.
