Hayley Advance Shutdown

MTUCache 59

A net-decking experiment (no games played), attempting to see if a non-Noisemill Advance Shutdown will work (The Source and Chakana)...

Although more than half of the pieces for a really solid Chakana-play are Anarch/Virus cards, I wanted to see if they could fit into a Shaper deck so that it plays more as a flexible-run deck than a mill-first deck. Obviously both are capable of either R&D or HQ locks, and both can get into the Archives for a scoop when necessary, but I really thought that because of the draw and economy needed to get these combos in play that the Anarch version really doesn't have any other choice than to mill-first and score-second. The extra virus tricks help keep your Chakanas in play, but really prevent you from getting enough icebreakers out to get into multiple servers consistently.

So, Shaper it was. None of the other Shaper IDs had the extra influence I was looking for, so Hayley was the one I though could install this many programs the quickest. Shaper has access to very good draw and decent tutors/recursion (Diesel, Quality Time, Test Run, Self-modifying Code), a variety of breakers (considered going Stealth here, but it was just dependent on too many MUs with Cloak in the mix), plus they have some really great econ-engines.

Purges will definitely take a few clicks longer to recover from without all the Anarch Virus toys, and extra influence would have been nice for another Virus Breeding Ground and some Déjà Vus, but I think I've got enough survivability for my Chakanas here with the Surges and Progenitors that I can keep them running without too much downtime. Plus, I think this deck will have a much easier time re-accessing R&D than a Noisemill deck, so I can put my Chakana counters back on the old-fashioned way if I need to.

Anyway, I'm curious to see what people will think. Doing some sample draws I think I can regularly get a loaded Chakana in play by turn 3, with multiple Chakanas or Source in effect by turn 5-6. Is this realistic? If so, does this do enough to slow down FA decks until I can get an R&D lock?

Or, as I'm beginning to suspect, am I committing half my deck and all my influence to simply slowing down the Corp a little bit, without effectively stopping them, while at the same time gutting my own ability to do what Shapers do best (rig-up for the end game)?

I suppose I should note that this was inspired Tyrellian's Can-o-Whupass Noise Deck: netrunnerdb.com Although I've attempted to take it in quite a different direction. The Virus re-load combo for the Chakana's is pretty much all based on the discussion in that decklist.
