Gods Among Us v3.0

Glitch 385

In this iteration, I've decided to cut the San San option and focus completely on Trick of Light. As much as I love San San, having to create a dedicated scoring server took too much away from centrals, and in this dark time of Eater + Keyhole, ICE is just better served over HQ and R&D.

So, due to the focus on ToL, I decided to go all in on the advancable ice, which leads me to the ice choices:

Builder felt like an obvious choice here, as its taxing to break, and when left unchecked, will help set up your victory.

Ice Wall and Fire Wall are great advancable, taxing pieces.

Of course all of the new Galactic ice make an appearance. Asteroid Belt and Nebula are at 3 because I needed dedicated program destruction, and extra end run subroutines never hurt. Wormhole and Orion are singleton because, as good as they are, they hurt when they show up too early into the game.

After cutting San San to rely heavily on ToL, I needed some way of recurring my main win condition. I had 3 influence to spend and figured that Reclamation Order is my best bet. I wanted to squeeze 2 into the deck, so I ended up cutting a Jackson Howard to get the spare influence.

I ended up cutting Beanstalk Royalties for PAD Campaign because I feel that these sorts of decks need some form of stable economy that comes in every turn.

My agenda suite changed to encompass more 4/2 agendas because 5/3s are just too difficult to score without a dedicated scoring server.

Cyberdex Virus Suite was added to deal with the growing amount of Noise decks that are showing up.

I think swapping to trick is a good move, if for no other reason than that it will allow you to FA a 4/2 out.

How are you finding Fire Wall i don't see str 5 barrier for 5 as that useful, but i'd be interested to hear how your finding it since I've not actually tried it so my first impression could be wrong. On the same note hows Mark Yale in here is he actually worth the deck slot?

All in all it's looking like a strong deck.

On its own, Fire Wall is fairly mediocre. However, now that I've included Builder it's become a solid taxing ice. So far it's done about as well as expected, no better, no worse.

Mark Yale is still a powerhouse, if nothing more than to just save the deck of bad pub from Geothermal Fracking. He had yet to let me down.

I like the deck! With some little tinkering here and there, I think this list can win a Store Champ.... :)

Still trying to play with this ID myself, please can you tell me why you left out firmware upgrades? Do you find you have trouble if you don't see a Project Atlas?

@HalfDayDeemo Firmware Updates is a great agenda, but in order to bring down my agenda count, it had to be removed. With Builder now in the deck, I really have no need for the ability, and the deck can generate enough economy without using the counters with Mark Yale.

I don't find that the deck really struggles when Atlas doesn't show up. You just need to glacier up and double ToL your 4/2 agendas.

@Glitch So it is simply the ability to score the Hostile Takeover's out of hand then? I'm finding it hard to draw away from Firmware Updates working with Mark Yale and also being great Archer food. I actually only just noticed that the only card you have to advance ice is Builder, how often are too clicking to advance on your turn? No room for Shipment from Kaguya?

Exactly, not needing a ToL to score my final point is key. Also, since removing Archer I have no need of a plethora of 1 point agendas. I click to advance ice often, usually I IAA the Galactic ice unless I see Builder early.

When I first built this deck (even before posting my original build) I used Shipment from Kaguya but found it too slow as I would need to already have 2 ice installed for it to be worth it, and even then with only playing one Shipment, the ice still costs 6 to rez.

Interesting, but thanks for the thoughts. This style of deck is pretty new to me, I never thought that I wasn't advancing enough. Advancing a Cosmic ICE you know are likely to Rez is like a Beanstalk Royalties of course.

@Glitch Looks pretty solid. Only difference from my deck is I dropped the scorch threat and am using the 4 extra slots for a lotus field, 3rd jackson, and 2 other things (housekeeping/lag time/beanstalk royalties/ICE). For some reason people just can't stop thinking weyland = scorch + archer.
