Iain may be an old coot to some, but the reason he was able to make it to this ripe old age, is that he's not afraid to adapt to his surroundings...or his adversaries. He knows how to get money and also when to use it. He knows how to SAVE money, as well. Resources are great, and he loves to keep them around...but when they have outlived their usefulness, it's time to chop them up and discard of them.

Stirling is efficient, careful and extremely difficult to track. He makes no bones about the fact that his own brittle bones need protecting from the perils of the outside world. He has his enemies, as well as his sympathizers...but they all know better than to mess with him, even on his worst day!

Bit of explanation:

  • Like the write-up says, you must be adaptable to not only the hand you've been dealt...but also the hand the Corp has been dealt, as well.

  • Logos, Hostage, Supplier, Sure Gamble...that's the mulligan criteria. Ideally, you want at least 1 or more of those in the opening 5.

  • You will need Bank Jobs against PE, RP, NEH, some Weylands, EtF...basically all the popular Corp IDs out there.

  • Crash Space, IHW and Feedback Filter will provide sufficient band-aids.

  • CE, CS, Decoy, Tripping and Chop Bot will all make it nearly impossible for Corps to sniff you out.

  • Data Folding, Kati, CE and Iain's ID ability will provide enough drip while Gambles, Marks, Day Job and Bank Job will get you plenty of burst when you need it.

  • There's even some draw, with Express, IHW (if little to no threat of damage) and Chop Bot to help keep Public Sympathy relevant.

  • Tutoring should be fine with Logos, 3x Hostage and 2x Special Order.

As this is my first go at an Iain deck, as well as a neat diversion from what I'm used to as far as runners go in general, any and all feedback would be appreciated!

Looks good, been playing stirling a lot myself recently, chop bot is a very clever splash. Kati I can never decide on with stirling, he is the kind of ID where you run once a turn so the extra clicks have to go on something right? Kati always seems like the perfect choice but then I never play her when I draw her. I went for ProCo instead to speed up the setup time, but I think chopbot may prove more efficient and less inf.

Kati will hopefully provide some "burst over time" staying power. Unless the game is basically over (NEH Astrotrain, PE Nisei tokens, etc.), it's never a dead draw. If I were to go with ProCon, I'd almost certainly have to drop IHW, and that isn't something I wanna do atm. :)

I really can't wait to see how my influence splashes perform, especially Chop Bot. I actually built this deck on a whim for my fiance, so hopefully she'll give this a go and like the outcome. I will keep you posted for sure. :)

To update for Holding - Since the last comment(s), I've dropped Public Sympathy and Express Delivery and put in 2 HQ Interfaces, a Legwork and a Same Old Thing and have loved the results.

The SOT is flexible to a degree...it's whatever you need it to be, really, and you can't top that. The additional HQ pressure can really be a handful later in a game when you're getting a consistent 3+ credits at the start of every turn. If you think the Corp might be flooded, you can poke at R&D little by little, but really lock down their hand when all your breakers are out and you have all the ICE info you need.

I may have to try this out at a store championship soon, even though my main runner deck is Silhouette.
