Theo the Stimdealer

This is the deck Jamieson and Hollis built (with viewer inputs and discussion) LIVE and on twitch feed and played it undefeated that night on OCTGN Theophilius Bagbiter was picked through fan votes and we built the deck around him. Here is the VOD export - video is kind of long but it goes into deck building process and then a game after : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4pQ3wfAEyA

Rachel Beckman might be a bit of overkill since it might be more of a expense than benefit, and I personally would sacrifice some R&D Interface+Uninstall in exchange for some Scavenges, just as I somehow fit some copies of Same Old Thing in the deck, but overall the inclusion of Stim Dealer in this version of Theophilius Bagbiter+Ekomind deck makes my eyes glitter! Never had this idea looked so attractive before!

So I am gonna try it soon!

@yokhen Thanks for the comments - Stim Dealer was doing serious work when it hit the table, beyond anything we thought it would. Didnt even worry about the damage it was doing. It would be really hard to cut the multi-access from this deck as it has been crucial piece of win conditions and locking down access into the server. The card that we want to try and fit in is actually a Sneakdoor Beta

Since your already going with large amounts of unused Memory, could you not simplify your breaker suite with just having sage and overmind, and maybe a mimic in the off chance of swordsman?

after watchng your match, I was wondering if it might be a good idea to switch rachel for another stimhack. rachel is good, but as you say, stimhack wins games. also, switching one supplier for an earthrise might be a really good idea. that card really sings in this list.

I definitely would have put in tri-maf, the extra clicks, and they're not unique, allow you to make serious cash all the time. In addition to kati you can make 9 credits a turn basically, and still run with stimdealer out. Also the increased handsize mitigates any potential downside (honestly they'd trash theophilious and anything else first!)

Also I would have gone more connection heavy and run calling in favors, to give a cheap burst to help keep hand size up.

Either way, fun video. I watched all of it.

@DJINNandJUICE totally agree - We really didnt know just how much value we would get out of Stim Dealer when building but after playing Rachel Beckman could definitely cut the cutting floor. From all the times I have played this she has never been on the table. That has not been because of lack of opportunity but install cost even off the supplier. The idea and comfort she offers with her ability is not worth the precious influence she is taking up.

Spent the time yesterday to finally watch the video... Honestly, as a new player, I was really impressed by how balanced you guys got this build on the first shot. Even without the ideal econ at the start, you didn't waste any time building credits or hand-size.

Frankly, I was wondering about your opponent. He obviously knew what he was doing, but your deck was just a nightmare matchup for him. Even though the pace of play was slowed down by your conversations and learning the deck, the thing that really dragged that game to a slow-crawl was that you guys were set up and ready to run remotes before he had anything installed on them. His strengths (money and damage) were essentially non-issues for Theo. I wonder how this would look against a FA deck who puts the pressure back on you to make runs without being confident you're ready to make them.

Suggestions? I hesitate to offer any, but it did feel like a bit more multi-access would have gotten you some earlier answers during that game (Legworks?).

I have a strange intuition that this Theo/Ecko/Overmind gambit may be a bit more powerful (and popular) than you suspected, and may be more tourney-ready than the jank-fest you thought it would be.

@x3r0h0ur hey man thanks for giving this a look over - interesting pick with the Tri-maf Contact I like where you were going there i have used it before and dig the risk for reward style it brings but your right in saying it would play interesting in this build

Love seeing attempts at the jank ... but how is Game Day in this. Pull your card quantity, and find influence for 2 days.
