Yogdor the Spooninator

drmastodon 101

So I reworked the Yogdor deck to add some more ice destruction in the form of Spooned.

Original description: Another variation on the Yog.0saurus + Datasucker + Paintbrush theme. I've had some good success with this deck, and am usually able to get most of the rig running fairly quickly. Scavenge gives flexibility to run Yog.0 early on its own and then reinstall onto Dinosaurus when ready, as well as the usual combo with Test Run, and ability to reset Femme when needed.

Ideal Draw:

Test Run, Scavenge, Modded, DinoSaurus, Code Siphon - would get Yog.0saurus up turn 1, and set up a code siphon for paintbrush turn two, or turn one if you want to YOLO with a tag and no cards at the end of your turn. Never going to happen, but I can dream, right?

Weaknesses:

  • Weak against traces.

  • Low Econ. This is mitigated by the fact that Yog.0, Datasucker and Paintbrush don't cost credits to use.

New version notes: While I found that i could Paintbrush my way into any server with up to 4 pieces of ice (3x Paintbrush clicks, then Yog.0saurus+Datasucker through), it took a while to do so. Dropping Parasite and D4v1d gave me enough influence, and i added some Same Old Thing to recur Spooned. Had to lose the R&D Interfaces, but I rarely needed to get them out to win. I also added Paricia to give me some trashing power. Anyway....

Yogdor!

Yogdor was a woman

I mean, she was a robot woman

Or maybe she was just a robot

But she was still Yogdor!

Yogdor!

Yogdor!

Spooninating the Tollbooths,

Spooninating the Heimdalls

Spooninating all the ICEs

And their trashable assets! Trashable assets!

AND THE YOGDOR COMES IN THE NIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!!

EDIT: Added original description for background info, formatting.

Tutors are great but ... 7 ways to tutor (9 with clone chips) seems a bit excessive given that adding multi-access would help alot. Also, with no barrier breaker, the answers to a barrier behind another piece of ice seem to be limited. You could spoon first ice, but corp just as likely to have another ice to put in front. You could femme it but likely not cost effective and better femme targets. You could atman it but if it's advanceable then with just 1 data-sucker that won't work with multiple advances by corp. A 1 of cerebus might be good given scavenges and clones.

@sruman The tutors are there to get me Yog.0, Paintbrush and Datasucker out extremely quickly. in the previous version of this deck, I had those 3 installed by turn 3 at the latest, and was usually fully up and running by turn 2. Once those are up, I can get through a stack of ice up to 4 deep by using Paintbruch to make everything past the first ICE code gates. The clone chips are mainly insurance if something in that suite gets trashed.

I was loathe to remove R&D Interface, but given the early pressure that I can put on with a deck that doesn't need credits to run once it's operational, I've never needed to install it.

Fair points on the speed of setup -- being a stealth kate player, the concept bewilders me to my detriment :) Given the spoons and same old things are great to have, maybe a Levy for games that go longer (or PE) ? You might get alot of duplicate, discarded junk back in ( pro-cos, dinos, etc. ) but DCs, SoTs, Spoons, Modded, and SG might back it worthwhile. Plus pro-co pays you to draw past the dups anyway. Just an idea and an on-the-bubble one I think, but maybe 1 scavenge or 1 escher might be a good trade (if not 1 code siphon :)? My other thought was that the net shield might not be worth the slot / memory over Deus X with 2 supporting clone chips . I used to run net shield as well but switched because the 1 card pings are no big deal (less with pro-co) and being able to block the big beat-downs ( ronin, snare, junebug ) seemed more important.
