#4.1 Heap-to-HQ

Ventrikel 28

Work in progress. I'm planning on getting to know a deck well before participating in a tournament this Easter, so this is what I will be working on. I will consider changing Exile: Streethawk for Kate "Mac" McCaffrey: Digital Tinker or Chaos Theory: Wünderkind and revising accordingly.

Main economy comes from Oracle May and Motivation and Aesop's Pawnshop. Drawing and cash flow makes me able to install repeatedly. Atman and Medium makes this dangerous quickly, I hope, and if needed later I will pawn Atman to install it at a different strength. Knight is the main backup when they install a rough piece of ice and Alpha can replace that when they get a few pieces of ice on top of each other. Though I'm looking for something to replace the Alpha: maybe attribute more value to "standard" breakers such as Gordian Blade, Battering Ram and maybe Femme Fatale. Medium and Nerve Agent gives me options for if they guard their central servers well. Datasucker backs up Atman and everything else. I think I will need a lot of but also for safe, frequent runs, and either way Rabbit Hole can be pawned...

Problem1: I want to remove cards, keep the deck slim, but I don't want to lose too much tutoring SMC and Test Run - in fact I might want more.

Problem2: Alpha is expensive but Atman's weak spot is huge - I need versatility to get around it. What other ice breakers so I want?

I got a rather limited range of cards so far. In fact I'm missing many of these, so keeping within core set/creation&control or any other sets that include the cards above would be great.

I think your decks trying to do too much. You have huge boost but not cashing in on it by using Underworld Contact or ZU.13 Key Master you seem to have an Atman build but then put proper breakers in also.

I would suggest something like this really netrunnerdb.com you can happily change the id over to Kate also and it will function mostly the same, Kate will have more money while Exile will be able to survive damage better or get to other cards better.

@Pinkwarrior that's a problem I've identified in my decks before, "trying to do too much"! ;) Thanks for the feedback! That is definitely a good deck to draw inspiration from. I actually didn't consider the from The Toolbox. Do you think Rabbit Hole is too much, even with Underworld Contact?

I'll look into icebreakers with more utility so my Atman really does get to pull the heavy load.

@Ventrikel It's hard to say if its too much link with Underworld Contact id say it's probably too much to aim to have down in 90% of games, but at the same time you want more + cards so you have a better chance of hitting them and getting it working.

You have to think if the corp has no trace having more than 2 link will be worthless and then your taking up deck slots for nothing.

@Pinkwarrior Good thinking. I will have to try out the economy, I think, to see if I need an extra per round (consider how many cards it would take me to get that credit).

Retrieval Run would let you install big programs for much cheaper, and triggers Exile. This combo makes Alpha and Omega quite attractive imo.

@FarCryFromHuman That's a good one to keep in mind! And I like both Alpha and Omega however they're both AIs like Knight and Atman. I've that can't be broken by AI isn't too uncommon is it? How do I get around that, except using Datasucker and Parasite which might take far too long to build up counters for...

Afaik, Swordsman is your only issue here. At 2 strength, he's an obvious Parasite target.

@FarCryFromHuman Oh that fucker, I saw it yesterday. Was a real pain in the ass. So I've got to make room for a parasite in my deck. Made a new version of it btw, it's linked under "Inspiration for" :)

Moving comments to the new deck then!
