Stealth Andy: 2nd place Sydney City Store Champs

AstralFrost 38

This was the runner deck I piloted to second place in the Sydney Store Championships. I believe there were 28 people in attendance and I only had one loss with this deck on the day which was during Swiss to an NEH Fastrobiotic deck. My corp deck was Replicating Perfection:

which lost in the finals to this Stealth Andromeda deck:

This is a fairly standard Stealth Andromeda build with a couple of key differences:

  • no Faerie: I know many consider this to be a staple but I can't say I've regretted the choice so far. With 3 each of Ghost Runner, Silencer and Cloak, as well as 3 Special Orders I've rarely found myself in a situation where I desperately needed a sentry and it cost me the game. Having said that you do need to be careful face checking early as I have lost my Corroder on turn 2 due to a Grim before (which is why I have Breach as backup).

  • Utopia Shard instead of Feedback Filter: Fairly meta driven choice as many people in my area play NEH and virtually nobody plays PE. Only really used it once on the day with a legwork combo (to see my opponent's entire hand) but unfortunately it whiffed. I'm still optimistic about my choice because it does mess with certain decks winning combos (like NEH and Blue Sun).

For anyone uncertain how this deck works, basically you get out Desperado, Security Testing and John Massanori as early as you can and run archives (or wherever you want vs NEH) for 3 free credits and a draw every turn on click one. That kind of efficiency in a single click coupled with very cheap or free runs due to stealth credits makes this deck very hard to stop vs pretty much everything except taxing barriers or the odd non barrier/code gate/sentry ice.

Not really sure what I'd add or change to the deck (maybe Utopia for Feedback Filter again if PE became popular) because currently it has an extremely high win rate with very few redundant cards. I guess if there was anything I wouldn't mind it would be a bit of extra memory for the third Cloak and Passport in play with Refractor but its not really necessary at this stage and more of a want than a need.

Any feedback, comments or suggestions are welcome.
