The crew

Ahoy! This is Eden's deck with a few spots we tinkered with, with nervousnightjar and I taking 3rd and 2nd with the list at the Lodz Megacity.

This deck will steal your money, munch away your cards and generally commit (on)board(ing) crimes.

These 15 friends on a dead corp's chest rolled over all Corp strategies I faced during the tournament, with the notable exception of Essence32's False Lead kill Nebula which I was too lily-livered against and yaba's LEO deck in the final where the deck had a really hard time getting wind in its sails, ultimately faltering and sinking, penny and board-less.

Now, a short discussion about tavern fun and money problems when ashore. This deck plays Sure Gamble thanks to a suggestion by Kikai, recently observing that this deck doesn't really need much money and you only want some cash in the early game. The logical thing to do was to cut Fermenters which felt like too much money and Rent rioters which we never wanted to click, even with the clickless install. Instead of clicking it, we just wantonly take the Corp's treasures and that feels so much sweeter.

Another slot which differs from other lists I've seen is the inclusion of a second Botulus which was for Nebula, to shore up glaciery matchups overall and have another target for more recursion value when the Corp is already going under.

Tips on playing the deck for avid mates

This deck only works when you float a tag at the end of your turn!!! Do not be afraid to do this, all the Corp can do if they triangulate your position on the seven seas is FA an extra agenda but you'll have locked and shredded HQ before that marginal advantage converts to a win. Or, somewhat unfortunately, it might be the end of the line for your piracy career so be careful when reading a potential kill deck when setting up. The good thing about EotL kill decks is you're very favoured into them due to all your disruption and tag clearing tools so taking it slow in those matchups will generally win you the game.

Any asset decks are free wins. Lago, Hannah, Solidarity Badge and Amanuensis drip cards and those cards quickly convert into large amounts of money if you need it thanks to FoaF and Transfer of Wealth. Bonus plunder points for getting down Valentina and starting every turn with 2 cards and a credit.

Importantly, this deck can easily win without ever breaking ICE. Bankhar is the best card in the game and this deck messes with buffer ICE extremely well since it's often something you can crew on the cheap, getting rid of the flimsy ICE Corps will use to eat the Bankhar trigger. Audrey will be the final tide, capsizing most ICE based strategies when it comes down. Also, I'll add a little discussion point here about Leech which I don't think fits the optimal play style of the deck, as you'll only be making multiple central runs when you're plundering centrals and have already won the game. As such, I think the Leech is extra and unnecessary, with a second Botulus taking its spot for another unfair way to cheat through ICE, adding one final bolt to the Davy Jones locker where we keep the Corp.

Overall, this deck is absurdly good in the current environment and playing it feels like a true pirate's dream.

Finally, a huge thank you to the TO team in Łódź for being so welcoming and running a fantastic event, and another huge thank you to the Polish community for being so wonderful to spend time with, this trip was fabulous and I can't wait to come back!

An update with results at MitM's showdown :

@nervousnightjar and I brought this, ending up 15th and 4th respectively. The deck went 7-0 for me throughout the event, solidifying this as the clear best deck in my opinion!

these are some interesting choices that i'm not sure how to evaluate! congrats! re: leech - i've been going back and forth on it, it's really nice trashing 3s after a single privileged access but it also might as well just be something else in lockout situations. makes sense that you didnt need it. going back to 2 botulus is just correct

Thanks! I've almost found myself thinking that I should really only be recurring Gourmand most of the time, so I don't want anything else off of Privileged Access usually so that argument doesn't really resonate with me but I can see the appeal if you aren't as high on Gourmand
