Slander: 1st Place Store Championship NuGames Arcata, CA

Narduwel 255

This is the runner deck I used along side Jinteki: Industrial Genomics in the store championship at NuGames Arcata. I managed to win first place. The last round I faced off against Leela Patel: Trained Pragmatist and Jinteki PE. I got an early Keyhole that my opponent wasn't prepared for and I managed to get nearly two whole turns of running keyhole against him. Unfortunately, this deck and the Industrial Genomics deck I ran are normally slow decks, so I was generally really rushed during the tournament.

In a previous iteration of this deck, I had Itinerant Protesters and Vigil. I removed both because I found that I rarely tried to burry the corporation in bad publicity. Because I also ended up doing a lot of running, I switched to Doppelgänger to get that extra run. I added Lamprey to have an additional bonus when running HQ. John Masanori has proven to be a liability at certain times in the past games I have played with Valencia, so I added Chop Bot 3000 so that I have an option to get rid of him and still get the 'free' hard draw for the turn without risking a tag.

Patience is fairly essential with this deck. I have lost a few games because I got impatient and ran a scoring server without using Blackmail. Another card that causes a lot of problems for this deck is Crisium Grid. If Crisium Grid gets put on any of the central servers, things begin to get difficult. Archives is the least punishing of the central servers to get a Crisium Grid, but is still annoying. The last thing I have found with this deck is that I only should use Investigative Journalism to ensure the corp has a bad publicity. If I am confident that the corporation doesn't have and bad pub removal, then I usually try to find time to give them a second bad pub cause that usually means a world of difference when I am running 2-4 times in a turn.

I like the name.

This deck is pretty mean. While it has minimal access to remotes, it also has the means of usually just making it not matter.

Cards I would probably swap would be ChopBot, Scrubbed and drop down to x2 John. You may also drop a Sec Testing, although the loss of consistency might really hurt Val.

Anyway, great games! You sure cleaned up Saturday!
