IG Goes Off-Grid

lolpaca 1247

So, this deck is based on the following interactions:

-The runner can't trash Off the Grid without a successful run on HQ

-The runner can't make a successful run on HQ without trashing Crisium Grid

-Crisium Grid gets hella expensive to trash unless they run archives

-Archives can be a scary place with Komainu, Inazuma, Hokusai Grid, Shi.Kyū and Shock! kicking around.

Comments and suggestions welcome!

How do you do on money? I've got a nasty Anarch player in my meta who just uses Imp to ruin my day, so I have trouble just depending on Sundews for econ. Have you thought of Celebrity Gift?

Do i need to trash Crisium Grid? I could make a run on HQ without using any run events/cards. Only using breakers and IMP. Off the Grid will be trashed after this run...

It's a completely untested deck (more an idea really), but yeah I can foresee money issues for sure. Celeb Gift would definitely be worth testing. I could cut at least one Inazuma, and possibly switch Nisei MK II out for two 3-pointers to free up a couple of slots.

I'd love to get Hostile Infrastructure in there too just to make trashing extra-painful, but the deck's way too light on money as it is...

@Torf True, you could trash it with Imp - there's no way around that really. But you'd have to get past Caprice Nisei first.

@Torf Sorry, think I misunderstood your comment a bit: yes, you do need to trash Crisium Grid, its ability affects Off the Grid the same as any other card.

Imp would pretty much ruin your day if they do get past Caprice, but Imp pretty much ruins IG anyway so I'm not overly fussed about that.

@Torf: You are mistaken. When you run HQ, step 4.4 (see: Timing Structure Of A Run) reads: "The run is considered to be SUCCESSFUL. (‘When successful’ conditionals meet their trigger conditions)". But in this case, Crisium Grid is there, so this run is NOT considered successful. Off the Grid stays safe. Now you access cards (step 4.5) and you Imp the CG and run ends. Only now you have a window to run HQ to trash OtG.

Interesting idea, but the economy is seriously lacking. Props for trying an interesting IG deck though. It's a hard identity to make work.

Could anyone tell me which card have priority Imp or IG id? The Imp trash card at no cost, but then ID tells that trash cost is increased for each card facedown in archives. So I think that, for example: if corp have 3 cards facedown in archives and Imp trash Crisium Grid, runner must pay 3 credits instead of 8.

@quiciuq: Ahhhhh now i get it. Thank you! Crisium Grid dosn't trigger only by runner cards. You can also use it for corp cards.

@pawvel Pretty sure Imp takes priority, as the wording is 'at no cost', which sounds pretty unambiguous. I'd love to be wrong though!

Both take priority, sort of. IG does increase the trash cost by however much. Imp then makes the card capable of being trashed without needing to pay that cost.
