CT's library of programs [spoilers]

cdwolstenholme 51

With Spanish spoilers (apparently) providing the text from London library, I present to you the ultimate in efficient breaker suites: CT's library of programs

For those who haven't seen the spoiler yet London library is a 3 install location resource with abilities as follows:

click: install a non-virus program from your grip on london library, ignoring all costs

click: take a program from london library back to your grip

at the end of your turn trash all programs hosted on london library

This allows test run/scavenge to now be performed in a new way: London library scavenge, making breakers even easier to install for only 3 credits.

The theory of the deck is simple: draw like mad, then use either test run or london library to install incredibly efficient programs for free*. Morningstarosaurus with 3 personal touches can break anything up to 10 str (Curtain wall and Wotan) for 1 credit!

Same old thing allows scavenge to be played up to 5 times, to get all 4 programs out and to scavenge one onto Dinosaurus if necessary. Levy is in case something goes horribly wrong.

Edit: have just realised this is 1 card over, so probably lose an armitage

Pro con is a stand-in for london library in the meantime

Just when I gave up on CT big rig, enter London Library. That card is stupid good. Wow...

I wonder if this version or an Exile version would be better. You'd need a little more but you'd have better draw and 5 more slots to play with... I dunno.

@FarCryFromHuman it needs 1 more MU for that. I did consider exile, but 2/3 of the 5 extra cards would have to be akamatsu, and that's just one more piece that needs to be in the right place. Also with london library you only install from heap with the scavenge, so 5 extra cards for 4 extra draws is not really worth it to me

Morningstar's efficiency is unquestioned, but I would be nervous about having no answer to a Firewall advanced for 2 turns (or a Hadrians for just 4 advances). You can always just hit another server, but I'm sure if a corp did invest that much into the barrier, it would be over R&D (or a scoring server).

@sruman I did think about that myself, the answer is that at that point no breaker is getting through really. An ICE that costs corroder 10 or 11 to break is pretty much a dead server to you. I might consider adding net-ready eyes to take the strength 1 further but the problem remains. However if the corp has advanced a fire wall/Hadrian's that much I would suggest that they have been allowed to get too rich. The obvious answer is a singleton knifed in for one inject out, but that might hurt the draw more than I want

oh wait knifed is 3 inf, damn

ok -1 lucky find -1 inject +1 Earthrise +1 knifed. You just have to get there before they get the hideous barrier up and running, and SOT if it's needed again

You do make a good point about the break cost and inevitability, plus I suppose you've had 2 rounds to do what you will while they advance that.

Switching out QT for Earthrise is a good move I think, since both are 2 clicks of magnum but EH will get you 1 more card in a way that's easier to deal with.

Y U no Femme Fatale? London Library seems designed to work with Femme.

26 Mar 2015 cdwolstenholme

@lolpaca true, but I don't have the MU, and with this rig I shouldn't need to bypass any ICE. Archer is just about the only ICE I would really want Femme for, and that still costs femme 4 to Garotte's 8, plust 2 clicks to put it on london library and take it off again

26 Mar 2015 lolpaca

To look at it another way, Library's a free Femme Fatale for 3 clicks (you don't have to take it off at the end of your turn). Considering you're running 3 x Scavenge and Test Run too, it just seems a bit too good to pass up. It helps an awful lot with troublesome and very common ICE like Tollbooth and Data Raven.

26 Mar 2015 cdwolstenholme

@lolpaca if you don't take it off at the end of the turn it gets trashed, meaning it has totally lost it's usefulness. To keep it good would require 2 clicks a turn (installing and taking it off again) = 4 credits from MO. It saves you a click and 4 creds for data raven, 4 creds for Archer and 4 creds from tollbooth. Therefore MO instead of femme shenanigans is just as good for all except Data Raven, and I don't want to solve the MU issue and the influence issue and hold the damn thing in hand every turn just to save 2 credits net on one specific piece of ICE.
