Focus on programs and events that alter ice-types to the runner's benefit, and the ability to regain those cards from the heap.

Couple questions:

  • What's the thinking behind Crypsis? You have all 3 breakers and Paintbrush + refractor/switchblade will get you past any ice if you want.
  • Why so much link? You could have up to 4 link in your rig which seems excessive.
  • Why not add more cards to use up the influence? Silencers come to mind. Or HQ Interface ( more multi-access would be good) .
  • The 1-of Toolboox seems like a strange choice, only
  • 3 paintbrushes seems extreme given you have 3 SMC and 3 clone chips (to re-use SMC) for tutoring. I think 1-of would work since you don't need it until there's at least 2 layers of ice on table.

Also I would suggest:

  • adding some draw power.
  • adding lockpicks since needing stealth for Switch and for Refractor is really going to pressure that area.

Just as suggestion: - 2 paintbrush, -2 sac construct, -2 same old thing, -1 tinkering, -2 crypsis +3 professional contacts, +1 kati jones, +3 lockpicks, +2 silencers

Getting in 3rd sure gamble and 2nd Kati somewhere would help economy too.

When Chameleon gets released it might be really fun here.

@sruman - funnily enough, I originally called this deck Chameleon when I started it!

@sruman - thank you for all the advice! I'll try to respond in order.

  • You're right, Crypsis probably isn't needed. I included it out of fear of being unable to counter something if I didn't have the right cards out, but that's just part of the risk.
  • I played a game against a friend's very aggressive tag + damage deck, I guess that's made me over-precautious... Especially when I'm not playing with Kate as my identity!
  • Someone on Reddit pointed out that I'm not utilising my influence, which I hadn't really thought about it.
  • I've only got one Toolbox! I've got three Monoliths, but Toolbox seemed the better choice... Is it worth adding another console?
  • 3 Paintbrushes could be overkill, but because using that is my focus for this deck, I really want to avoid running out... even if it is a burden.

Would you say that the stealth-type icebreakers are worth it? They all require additional programs or resources, and I was torn about whether to use them at all!

I don't think stealth is viable unless you dedicate a lot of cards to use them. I'd recommend trying to find room for more stealth assistance. Nothing is worse than end game seeing an HB server 4 deep and knowing you need 1-2 more stealth credits that you can't produce :<

I would stealth breakers are definitely worth it as I've had success with them in Kate, Kit, and Andy. However as @four_leaf points out, you do have to dedicate support slots of extra support (but you can think of lockpicks, cloaks, etc. as econ cards of a drip-sort). Stealth Kit using refractor for early aggression has won several store championships I think.
Toolbox is better than monolith for sure, but maybe just throw in the 3rd cybersolutions mem-chip. Or if you have astrolabe maybe, 2x2 astrolabe and 2xcyber-solutions

Thanks for the input, everyone! I've made some adjustments, and have a new deck here: netrunnerdb.com

I've ditched the stealth-based breakers and have gone all-in with the decoders. Among other things, I've added an Ice Carver and a couple of The Personal Touch to make things a little easier.
