ZER0 C00L - 1st Place Toronto @ Snakes & Lattes

MaximumSushi 236

I took this deck to a tournament at Snakes & Lattes in Toronto. It performed very well in the post O&C and Valley meta with zero losses. I've been playing stealth kit for months now and have done a lot of experimentation with the archetype. I've deliberated on a few things with this deck and have a few tips on playing it.

Mulligan for Magnum Opus. A test run + scavenge to search for the mopus is also nice but works out to same credit efficiency but you have to burn your scavenge. It's fine to test run your mopus or use an SMC to fetch on. It is a big investment but having mopus money is excellent for setting up your rig and potentially beating game losing traces.

Akumatsu vs Cybersolutions: I've played two cybersolutions to save a deck slot but found myself rarely needing the 7MU but often needing to get 6MU. Having 3 copies is great for drawing into them for when you really need to get to 6MU. The 4 credit cost of cybersolutions is also a momentum hit. I'd much rather spend that additional money installing a rdi before initiating a run.

I've Had Worse: This was totally a meta call. I was worried about getting scorched from a Butcher Shop or Weyland deck. I really like including both a plascrete and the IHWs. If you're swimming in tags, often players will blow out your plascrete, wait a turn and then traffic accident and scorch you to win. Having an IHW in hand silver bullets this win condition. As I said, this is a local meta call where I was worried about butcher shop. Going forward, I will probably move that influence back to a 3rd legwork and either a d4v1d or parasite.

Traffic Jam: Enhanced Login Protocol sucks. Fast advance gives this deck trouble. I was running net celebrity for long time to combat ELP but traffic jam does so much more. Wait for someone to score their first astro and then play it. It is also fantastic to play when someone is at game point with an atlas, Vetruvius or ABT deck that can be scored out for a win.

Great list! If you had to drop the I've Had Worse, what would you put in instead?

Oops, just saw you already answered that question. Never mind! Great list!

@weepinggorilla, I'd also considering adding a clot. These are all meta response calls. If you're worried about large ice (a lot of Weyland or HB Glacier), go with the D4v1d. If you're seeing a lot of smaller ice (NBN, Jinteki, NEXT), go with a Parasite. If fast advance is prevalent in your meta, a Clot is probably the right call.

If you were to draw out and install your Magnum Opus first turn, what would you likely do for your first few turns? Opus a turn or two? Combo Opus with Rig Building or Running? I'm trying to get my new Kit deck to work and I'd love any advice you can offer :) (PS. I know it's always situation dependent, but what would you do on average?)

How has zero Sure Gamble been treating you? I struggle for slots whenever I try out Kit, hadn't considered cutting "the staple".

Im not the OP. But : `@spiralshadow. I play a similar deck. and the point is to get MO out on turn 1. Either true smc, testrun or just from hand. When that is done SG in kinda pointless. It takes 1 click to draw, and 1 point to play it and gain 4. Same as just clicking MO twice.

@MaximumSushi

Did you consider dropping the third fracter and MO in favor of EG a extra smc or clonechip ? I think less dead draws wil make drawing better.
