SPOILERS Breaker Bay Kit

daytodave 1218

This is based on the new Breaker Bay Spoilers. Don't read on if you want to be surprised.

The plan is to play Kit like a criminal, dropping Desperado and the new decoder (I'm calling it Chia-Torch because it's just as efficient as Torch, but only grows when you water it, like a Chia Pet) as quick as you can, then running everywhere until the corp forces you to get Paintbrush/any other breaker.

Normally I don't like Paintbrush in Kit, (You're spending 3 memory on breaking ice, why not just get breakers?) but with Chia-Torch it's pure economy, and it makes every piece of ice effectively a one-hit wonder. I don't run it instead of a breaker suite, I run it to get the most value out of high-strength decoders.

The brilliant thing about getting Tyson Observatory and Chia-Torch in the same datapack, is that you can get all three Lockpicks out fast, and use the Lockpick credits every turn whether you run or not. In other words, Chia-Torch becomes a Darwin with no boost limit, no threat of purging, and a free counter every turn.

Like all my decks, I start at 46+ and pare down the cards I'm least happy to draw after playing it for a while.

Proxies:

Capstone - Tyson Observatory:

Shaper (2 inf), Resource:Location, Cost 2
Click, Click: Search your stack for a piece of hardware, reveal it,
and add it to your grip. Shuffle your stack.

Torch - Chia-Torch:

Shaper (4 inf), Program: Icebreaker, Decoder, Cost 3, Strength 1, 1 MU
[xxx] has +1 strength for each power counter on it.
1c: Break code gate subroutine.
2c: Place 1 power counter on [xxx].

God, I hope these spoilers are real.

Does it make sense for the chia pet to be your 3x breaker? It would demand further investment early to be 'online' while conversely, there is no real need to have it out so early if you plan to feed it stimhacks. I believe you can use cloak credits for boosting the pet (pay for using icebreakers?), in which case, refractor might be a good fit--cyber-cyphers would also complement the chia pet so you can point one at the scoring remote or threaten a central while you're gardening.

Does stimhack+all that hardware beget a Personal Workshop option? It would certainly help you economize on Tyson Observatory, which is not the most efficient card for your economy.

With glacier decks on the rise again, and RP being just as good as its always been, we might not be able to get away with not playing currents on the runner side for much longer--and net celebrity would also help you feed the sleeping giant.

Chia Breaker is called Study Guide, and unfortunately it's 0 strength, making Torch better in most situations, IMO =(

@Saan I think the goal with the Chia Breaker is to buff it over several turns using temporary/recurring credits
