Free Tinker

First thought

  • Tinkering + cutlery is powerful. Whatever cutlery is standing right now in your hand, and whichever breaker is set on your rig, a Tinkering makes them universal.

  • Second thought : so it's not necessary to take all the cutlery.

  • Third thought : Knifed being the cheaper, let's go for this one.

  • Fourth thought : Quetzal is the runner who take the best advantage of Knifed.

So this deck was born.

It's based on the Tinkering+Knifed combo. Stuck under a Lotus Field ? Tinker it, knife the server and break it with Quetzal power. A Hive or a Komainu ? Tinker it, knife the server, and Yog it. An Archer ? Tinker it, knife the server, use combination of D4v1d, Quetzal power and e3 Feedback Implants. It's cheap, it works at instant speed and it's very surprising.

Also, Tinkering and Knife are quite good by themselves, so you can use them alone if needed. There are 3 Same Old Thing to reuse them.

Few considerations.

On the breaker suite

  • Mimic, because you need it.

  • Yog.0 because as every breaker that minimize the breaking cost, it's huge with Tinkering.

  • 1 Corroder because it can help.

  • D4v1d, Parasite, Datasucker and e3 Feedback Implants as support.

On protection against damage

3x I've Had Worse are a must. 1x Utopia Shard and 2x Wanton Destruction may help.

On drawing

  • I've Had Worse, either if you can or if you need.

  • 1x Vigil and 1x Symmetrical Visage. 2x Vigil may be a better choice, since it provide a precious MU, but with both, the second to come is not a dead draw anymore.

On recursion

Event recursion is favored, 3x Same Old Thing. Anyway, 2x Déjà-Vu always help to get back anything else.

On money

You're short. Deal with it. But you have ways to run for cheap (and furthermore, make destructive run for cheap) and nothing to expansive to play. What i'm not sure

I used to play Imp, which is great, but recently replace it with Wanton Destruction, which I haven't good opportunity to use. But few games happened since that change, so i don't really know.

Does it work ?

If Tinkering and Knifed show right on time, bet you can make nasty things on the other side of the table and keep some server opened. Corp will have hard time to build taxing servers. If not, it's not lost anyway. You have a bunch of good cards to play aggressively and certainly can make your way to accesses. Quetzal is very good at this. Draw, play something, run, as good anarchs do. And remember : Tinkering and Fork can be played alone.

Neat concept! I would probably swap the Wanton for Imp, though. Wanton is anti-synergistic with Vigil for one thing. Also, ice destruction does better when it can focus on clearing out a single server, and with the two Mediums R&D is probably the superior option for you. And once you're digging through R&D, you can use Imp to trash ice (or Scorched Earth) before the corp gets a chance to use it.
