The Blacklist: Featuring co-stars Kate McCaffrey and Leela P

hi_impact 1732

A fun little GNK deck that performed quite well, abusing the in-faction Twins to destroy the Runner's rig, and Blacklist or Chronos Project them away.

With all the temporary solutions to Archer running amok and Heap exploitation at all-time high, The Twins are poised to punish cocky runners installing Faeries, Sharpshooters, or D4V1Ds as their Archer solution. Crisium is the current hotness, and practically every Criminal will break themselves on an Archer + Twins HQ.

Like any Hostile Takeover/Archer deck, play fast and relentless. Score behind anything you can get.

Stealth can even be broken on repeating Archers, so score out before they find all three of their Ghost Runners.

This is an absolute meta call deck. Undefeated in blind trials against PPVP 'Blitz' Kate as well as Leela builds (3-0 live, 6-0 OCTGN [dat small sample size]), and performing favorably against Stealth - this is a deck for anyone who enjoys close, tight games before the opponent concedes.

This is one of my favorite Kitchen Table tier 2 decks. Weak points include the Grims, and the lack of Power Shutdown.

Hi,@scourged.

I really like the way this deck looks, very focused and lean. Well done, imho.

I'm going to try this deck out with 3x Nebula instead of Grims. Just to keep the BP from stacking too much.

Thanks for publishin'.

That's a great idea! Even Orions would be amazing! I find myself very rich most games I use a Jackson on econ at least once. Install them one turn, get 3 counters on it to keep it mysterious, and go from there. Only thing is they are unique so you can't really spread em around.

@scourged Only Orion is unique. Nebula and the other space ice aren't.

I feel like wormhole would be a fair add, copying the trash sub, and giving you a real codegate to deal with.

Interesting enough, maybe titan could port this concept using firmware updates to work with morph ice, changing type as the runner encounters (say lycan for instance), causing more program trash.

Is Core Weyland the best for this?

I just saw a comment on a different deck that runs both Blacklist and Chronos Project: doesn't having the former rezzed prevent the latter from firing when scored?

If so, I think you need to have this deck in Blue Sun, so you can pick up Blacklist on the turn you want to score Chronos.

@DrunkenGineerOrion can be Twins'd. To amazing effect. I substituted 3x Grim for 3x Orion and it has been insane. I never found myself rezzing more than 1 Grim a game anyway. Nebula would be exactly like Grim, except slower and BP-free, but I already make 1-2 a game.

@x3r0h0urWormhole would be a good tax. I wouldn't include more than 1/2 if you keep Orion. I like to play this deck like old Weyland rush, but without Scorch. Advancing ICE, especially more than 1, would really slam into tempo. But Wormhole is amazing and flexible and worth looking at.

@x3r0h0urTitan is the best Weyland generic ID, and its only a little different than Core. Titan makes all of its money after it score agendas, has better discrete Atlas's, and 2 influence. I didn't need the influence, found I needed the money early to rez stuff like Ichi 1.0, Hive, and a 6-cost triple-advanced Orion (used to be Grim at 5c). I don't need that much money, but when I do, I need it now.

@DrunkenGineerYes, the interaction does work like that. It often doesn't come up often.

I typically play Blacklist behind an Ichi 1.0 and a cheap barrier, not the scoring remote. But yes, the interaction does exist. I've installed stuff like Jackson/more copies of Twins over rezzed Blacklists if the Runner concedes the Chronos.

Played with this deck last night. Those Blacklists and Chronos were deadly. Unfortunately didn't draw the Twins until game was almost over. It could have gone either way at the end, but I took it in the end with a very close game. My archer got Crescentus'd. Then I scored out the Chronos and goodbye Crescentus!

I did tweak it a bit. -3 Grims, +2 Orions and +1 Wormhole. Put in 2 Orions with the plan of putting Archer and Orion over my scoring server and hoping to get Twins installed.

@Zybot Glad you enjoyed it. I tweaked this deck many times and played it a lot out of core ID and Titan. Found 3x Orion to be great instead of Grim. 3x Twins typically helps finding them, but not finding them can be a pain.

One of my favorite parts of this deck is rezzing Twins, and bluffing the Runner into not breaking Archer / Orion ETR sub's to not trigger my Twins bluff. Overall the matchup is a lot of fun, except when Kate draws all of her Clone Chips or Hayley drops 2 Ghost Runners turn 2.

Ghost Runners are the bane of this decks existence.

When Weyland finds more program trashing ice or ways to diffuse stealth/clone chips, I'll give a huge hurrah. Shame the Hardware trashing trap ICE is HB.

Would you consider running this out of GRNDL? The early money advantage seems worth it, since you're already giving up BP in the deck.

Also, Shattered Remains is neutral, and definitely might be a good include, along with Power Shutdown.

What are you usually using the Archived Memories for? Getting back the ice you sac to the Twins?

30 Jun 2015 hi_impact

Heya @tzeentchling those are all very good recommends. I wouldn't do the Shattered since I'm not really going for the flatline. Trashing hardware is nice but Clone Chip can typically dealt with just fine with Power Shutdown.

My most modern version is netrunnerdb.com

Blue Sun is just so strong, and being able to relocate ICE for scoring is key. Archer + Twins is great against d4v1d still, and Kate can get taxed out of a remote with Curtain Wall and Twins as well. You could trade out the Archived Memories & Off the Grid for 3x Blacklists. I've seen that used to good effect as well.
