Hayley Kaplan's "The Machine"

WARNING: Do not operate if you are expecting, or under the influence of alcohol or sedatives.

Do you like drawing lots of cards? Do you like making lots of dough? Well this deck does a lot of all of those things, all at once!!! Gone are the days where you spend a click to draw a single card. How about drawing 13 cards and gaining 10 credits, ALL IN THE SAME CLICK?

This deck is designed to take the UTMOST advantage of both Hayley and Comet's click compression. Powered by some hot-off-the-press Genetics, along with some old school Crusades, this deck pushes the limits of the total amount of things you can do in a single turn.

THE NOTABLES

The Genetics package is what makes this deck tick. The combination of Adjusted Chronotype and Gene Conditioning Shoppe makes it so you can lose up to two clicks a turn, but get them right back. The cards that we use to steal those clicks are Beach Party and Starlight Funding Crusade. These four resources together make us net neutral in our clicks.

The Doubles are another integral part of this deck. There are only 9, but Game Day easily draws you through your entire deck to find them. If it were not for Game Day, this deck would not exist. Lucky Find is a staple card these days. Power Nap can get you just as much, if not more, credits that Lucky Find.

A sleek breaker package, some multi-access, and some Same Old Things round off the 45.

THE TRICKS

Tricks? Tricks are something whores do for money! They're illusions!

Let's say you have the 4-resource, click-neutral set up. You can:

Click 1. Play Beach Party #2 and an Aesop's Pawnshop (using Hayley's ability)
Click 2. Play Game Day to draw 10-15 cards AND (using Comet's ability) play another Double to gain money
Click 3. ???
Click 4. Profit!

At the start of your next turn, pawn the second Beach Party to remain click-neutral!

You can start your turn with Same Old Thing-ing a Game Day, and follow it up with a Comet trigger for another Event from hand. If you're low on money, you can, with a single click, play a Lucky Find/Power Nap AND play a Maker's Eye!

WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?

Is this deck consistent, so you ask? Let me answer your question with a question: does drawing 10 cards in a single click make you feel like you'll find what you're looking for?

Give it a spin today, risk-free, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Guaranteed to blow your socks off, or your money back!

TESTIMONIALS

"I have never had so many judge calls. This deck does some seriously broken things!"

"Ran into a Komainu, pitched my hand, and in my next click drew 15 cards. 10/10 would pilot again!"

"Get that mic out of my face!"

I just wanted to make a serious comment about this deck. It is a whole lot of fun. Just last night I gained 17 credits in one click. In another turn, I drew 14 cards. There was a turn I was sitting on 40+ credits. This deck has just unbeatable late game.

This is a very interesting deck. I've been trying to fit together something with Star Light crusade. I assume your plan for Sentries is to set Atman at 4 and hope they don't have a 5 or great sentry (with sharpshooter there for Archer)? With only one clone chip, though, that's only going to work once (or twice with Levy). And with one of's of all your breakers, do you see a lack of recursion being a problem? I think I'd be tempted to ditch the pawnshops to put in two more clone chips.

Actually, I made a couple of changes last night. -1 Sharpshooter, -1 Legwork, -1 Symmetrical Visage for +1 Levy AR Lab Access, +1 Femme Fatale, +1 Stimhack. Femme helps out with the Sentries, Levy with recursion. Femme can potentially be expensive, but this deck produces a ton of money.

Yeah, I've always been a big fan of Femme. Pricey to install AND to use, but it gives you some flexibility. Another thought is that, instead of that single Stimhack, you could maybe toss in Utopia Shard to maintain some HQ pressure since you removed Legwork.

@TheTick I second your suggestion of Utopia Shard in this list. After a successful HQ run you could install it for free and get a free install off Hayley as a bonus. Utopia Shard also reeks havoc on event economy and any deck trying for a kill.

@proxy Love this deck. Most promising Hayley I've seen yet. Going to give this a go at my next game night! Might have a couple drinks though. What's a beach party without some margaritas! cheers!

Utopia Shard was definitely something I considered instead of Stimhack. I think they're actually interchangeable, based on preference. I'll probably end up giving both options a try today.

This looks like advanced version of my Welcome to the Future 1.0 deck. ( netrunnerdb.com )

I didn't understand how you would gain 13 cards and 10 credits ALL IN THE SAME CLICK?

Also how exactly happens if you play a double as the second event from Heyley? Do you still have to pay 1 additional click? Instead of free it costs 1( as a normal would be free). Ofc if you have the Starlight it will be free.

@Dydra Well here is the magic that gets you 10 credits and 13 cards in a single click. You need to have Comet, Starlight Funding Crusade, 2 Beach Parties, and 8 Doubles in the Heap. In a single click, you first play Game Day with just 2 cards after playing it, drawing 13 cards, then play the final Power Nap you just drew off of a Comet trigger to gain 10 credits.

Then you can Pawn the second Beach Party next turn to stay click-neutral!

I played this last night with some friends and was amazed at how well it worked and how incredibly fun it was to pilot. I actually got that scenario you mention about credits and cards on the same click to happen, though it was only 11 cards and 10 credits.

My only criticism was that I found there ended up being a bunch of redundant draws, and a few times in which I wanted to see a Diesel or Quality Time show up for extra draw when my hand was full. I may try this out with 1 less copy of some of the Resources that you only need 1 of in play, and add more draw to increase seeing them.

Great deck all around, and fantastic summary write up!

Just had my first game with this deck, it is so much fun! Great work coming up with it. I tweaked the rig a bit to make it more to my liking - cut Corroder for Lady and made space for Suckers so that Mimic and Atman can do more work, and also found room for a Scavenge and one more Clone Chip for Lady recursion. It worked well. Loads of stacked barriers could be a problem but you can Same Old Thing for Scavenge in a pinch so Lady's unlikely to ever run out really. The core mechanics are just amazing though. When the 4 main resources are out you can do absolutely ridiculous things. It is truly a thing of beauty. I could potentially see doing as Glitch said and cutting some of the resource dupes for more draw cards and a second Levy. More burst draw would hopefully speed up the set up, but that'll need testing to find out.

Glad you guys are enjoying it! There's certainly room for improvements, but in terms of the most ridiculous things you could be doing as a runner, I think this takes the cake.

I also realised yesterday that there is unfortunately one card that can wreck this deck which is seeing a lot of play - Komainu. With a ~10 card grip that thing becomes a beast. 10c to break with Mimic? No thanks. I think I'm gonna fiddle with the influence and try and slot a Parasite in to deal with it.

@CobraBubbles Femme solves this problem. A Femme counter on a Khomeini bypasses an encounter. So you never encounter the big dog. So it never gets its subs. So its free to bypass once it has a counter on it. This is another reason Femme keeps looking better and better in tho deck. With Comet it makes me want to try to jam in Test Run + Scavenge

@proxy Heard you talk about your deck on Corp Draw. Thanks for the great show, and thanks for sharing this fun deck.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have multiple beach parties to attend before I get up at 4AM to go to work. It's OK; I can sleep literally any time. :D

@partialcharge Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it!

Again, Heard the deck on Corp Draw, built it at work yesterday (Strangely, doesn't use a single card in my other Shaper deck), Played it twice, the first time not so great (Starlight never showed up versus an RP deck), though it was fun to lose an 11 card hand to Komainu then just Same Old Thing a Game Day to get it back.

Second game versus same person but with Core Weyland, was a blast, both of us were LOAO at the likes of (2nd) Beach Party>Hayley> Aesop's Pawnshop (for nest turn) Then Game Daying a new hand > Comet> The Maker's Eye, or as my opponent said, "How can I wait for a scoring window when you can Same Old Thing> Lucky Find >Comet > Power Nap for 15 credits??!!? (Of cause I died to a Snare the only time I had less than 3 cards in my hand)

Anyway, as great fun as it is, really found the Breaker suite lacking and it REALLY needs a 3rd Starlight but not a 3rd Symmetrical Visage.

Anyway, great show, keep it up and if you can get Flanzer to not Troll the Khador players so much, that would be great.
