Oracle Andy - GNK 1st Place

Sorry for the re-post. I just got back from a Double Kit Summer/Season 1 tournament. I won 1st place, and more importantly, this deck went undefeated. I've been playing around with the deck for the past week and it has been surprisingly incredible. Here are my thoughts from the original post:

So I brought this deck to a league night, and after a surprisingly successful night, I decided to play online (Jinteki.net) with it until the morning. I really think there might be something here.

A long time ago, I used to fool around with an Oracle May/Andy deck. I love the engine in criminal because they don't have good draw to begin with. However, the deck was never all that great, so I gave it up. That was roughly a year ago. Now, a new piece to this puzzle has been released: Symmetrical Visage.

Symmetrical Visage with Oracle May is a beautiful engine. Every turn, as long as you aren't being pressed to run, you can take 2 clicks to draw twice and take 3 credits. Throw in Kati Jones for those longer games, and security testing for those horizontal decks, and baby you got a stew going. The key is flexibility. Against slow decks, you can sit back and money up, while faster decks can still be dealt with by standard criminal bullshit. Pretty much every game I have played with it has ended in piles of credits. You don't really need to worry about Midseasons or Punitive when you double the corps credits. The event suite is pretty standard for crims. I have 3 Shutdowns because I like to play dirty, and I run 2 hostages to see that May as quickly as possible. Other than that, you are looking at a very tried-and-true criminal package. Desperado is always the go-to criminal console, and its what lets this deck face-off against faster decks. I don't want to sit back and durdle against NBN. This is all standard stuff, its the resources that need explaining. As I explained above, Oracle May is fun-stuff. It requires 4 influence since you will need Motivation, but Its a very sleek package that is definitely worth the effort. Luckily, it doesn't take all that much to set up. You have enough to work with if you don't pull your motivations until late-game. While you aren't set up, you still have sec test and Visage. Don't stress if your opening hand doesn't have your combo.

Finally, the breakers. Corroder is still crim's best option, so that was a no-brainer. Gordian Blade can always be swapped for a Key Master, but I really don't want to tax myself out with pumping Key Master. That's definitely a personal preference, though. Mimic and Faerie (with 3 Shutdowns) is usually enough to deal with any pesky sentries. Despite not running a full Sucker playset, mimic still makes the most sense to me. The single Datasucker is mostly just money and synergy, as it isn't crucial to the rig. Its nice to draw by the late-game just to finish the mimicsucker set-up.

I'll be bringing the deck to a GNK on Saturday, which will give me a better testing field of competitive players, but the deck has already proved to work great against Blue Son and HB Glacier.

Anyway, that's it. It is actually a very normal deck, just with its own engine keeping it together. The reason why I am posting it is because it makes a ridiculous amount of money. Its nice running a rich runner again!

Excellent choice for the engine. I've heard it working before, but Andy seems like a great home. Perhaps you could answer a few questions from a longtime Andy fan? -Is the 1 datasucker consistent enough to be useful? -What made you cut to 2 security testing? -When do you facecheck aggressively vs. taking time to get your engine setup?

Thanks! I myself am a long time Andy player, so I can definitely answer these questions.

The 1x Datasucker is not too important. If I ran Yog, Datasucker would be a 3x. But with Faerie, Mimic, Emergency Crypsis, and 3 Shutdowns, you don't NEED sucker most games. I also draw through most of my deck anyway, if the game goes long enough, so I've always found it in the games I wanted it.

Security Testing is a strong card but is very much icing on the cake. I don't need 3 of them in the deck, for sure. With more glacier, there is a lot more ICE hitting the table, so it's not even the best meta call. For me, it's more of a pressure card. I'll gain even MORE money if you don't rez all of your ice.

The engine doesn't take much to set up, so especially if you have a Symmetrical Visage running, just draw once a turn to find the hostage or Motivation. You can run exactly how you do with most Andy decks though. Drop a Faerie and run everywhere. Some games when the corp is doing especially little you can take a turn of two to set up and then legwork if you want to.

I facecheck once I have a faerie, and I always try to get into a server if I can. The enging will be set up all at once when it comes, so no need to play slow.

It's actually pretty standard Andy stuff, so give it a try. If you are a long time andy fan, you'll probably enjoy it as much as I have

@Imbers thanks! I'm glad it did work for you! I haven't made additions to it since Chrome. I've been playing with another Andy deck (Net-Ready Andy) and nothing in Chrome looking necessary. I have a regionals coming up Saturday, an am unsure if I should bring this. It doesn't have the best RP match-up, but it's fantastic against Blue Son and ETF, which are big in my meta. How did you find your games at Regionals?
