You thought you were Running fast before... v2

Softman25 297

Changed up the breaker suite and draw economy a little.

Quality Time, whilst offering good options...the influence was just better used in a Levy AR Lab Access. There are so many things you want again. The Levy here should be used midgame so you can power through to the late - as opposed to in late game already where the tempo swing offers too large of a scoring window. The addition of a one-of Same Old Thing is to attempt to prevent the Levy getting burned by singleton net or meat damage.

Main reason for Zuul over Gordian Blade is one less influence and the 3 less cost. It's more expensive over the long run. Same reason for an Alias over Mimic, although that's more for the spare influence to get Levy AR Lab Access in.

What I really want is next is another The Maker's Eye, but I don't think that's going to happen. I need 2 x Comet or I'm never drawing it, and Corroder is just too good. I'm also testing using 1 ofs for all breakers, and increasing the Special Order count to three. This also allows me to put in that one of Running Interference, which sometimes clinches games. (Like when their ICE is a Curtain Wall or something. Even if you are Blue Sun, that extra 14 creds is kinda rude...)

Still a 47 card deck, but that's fine, you have so much oomph, that 9/10 draws are still value, and you rarely need any specific cards.

If you could find room to put in 1 Passport, 2 Rex then you could drop ZU.13 Key Master for a 3rd The Maker's Eye. Probably not the best solution, but the only way I can think you could get in a 3rd The Maker's Eye reasonably.

Yeah, I'd think that's the way if anything. The cost increase and the card slots are rough though. To be honest, it's not that big of a deal, the ability to actually get into remotes with Inside Job / having money is bigger, and the HQ pressure with 3x Legwork and Utopia is pretty good.

Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll have to consider it if I really want that 3rd Maker's Eye.

@Softman25 You thought about Peacock over ZU.13 Key Master i find its generally good enough and usually works out about the same cost as Gordian Blade and on rare occasions cheaper.

It would free up the influence you want for The Maker's Eye as well

Not that desperate to be honest.

Besides, there's not that much where I'm going to save money with Peacock - also when you consider the 2 extra I have to pay to get it on the table. (http://i.imgur.com/b1ksUGq.png).

tl;dr: I think Zuul is worth the 2 influence over the Maker's.

Nice! Comet in Ken is about to be discovered, I think. Here's my take: netrunnerdb.com

Central-only breakers are an interesting thought I hadn't considered. I built around Datasuckers on the theory that they synergise will with successful runs. But passport + Rex are probably a better call than Yog since the deck I build dies to Lotus Field.

Emergency Shutdown is a beast. I'd suggest finding room if you can.

And get down to 45 cards!! Career fair might be the one I'd say to chuck. There are only 6 cards it combos with.

I including Day Job in mine but am wondering about 1x Stimhack instead. Both work with Comet and Stimhack wins games.

Emergency Shutdown is a bit...meh for me.

Career Fair is a bit deal - especially with the Comet. Being able to drop an Earthrise for really cheap is a bit deal, and considering you burn through your deck pretty quickly once you get the first Earthrise down, or a Lawyer Up, or whatever, you'll rarely be in a situation where it's a dead card...except late game really.

I've always liked that mix between central and non-central breakers in Criminal, it offers so much pressure. I'm actually honestly tempted to cut the Passport, since Zu fulfills a similar role, only at one less strength.

Regarding Day Job v Stimhack - I have to sway in favor of Day Job every time, since as long as you have a Run event, you can do a similar thing. (Especially with me, when I have the Prepaids and the Terminals.) You can Day Job for an extra 10 creds into an Inside Job or something, it's huge. It's also not a dead card if you're not looking to break into a scoring server. You can just play the bastard then trigger Comet into a Special Order or something...

This list is great. I like the addition of Lawyer Up and the central breaker! Kudos on that!

If you manage to pair this down, I'd suggest making room for Express Delivery. Before Comet, I thought it was an under rated Criminal draw card I almost never had spots for. But with Comet on the table, I have found it to be phenomenal! since you can dig for an event, and then immediately play it on the same click.

Also, I notice you have no scorch protection. Scorch is pretty big in my meta, what would you recommend cutting to make room for a couple Plascretes?

Comet Ken is proving to be a fun and potentially competitive archetype. Looking forward to seeing more of it in the future!!

Regarding Express Delivery, I like it, but probably not going to get added. Lawyer Up pulls double duty as post-Siphon tag clearance, as well as thinning the deck out.

Regarding Scorch, I'm playing Utopia as double duty for a potential score with agenda trash, and as semi-scorch protection. It's not the best, but it'll do. If you really wanted it in though, toss the Running Interference and Planned Assault - they're just silver bullets in many ways. You can also toss the Career Fairs if you're really badly worried about having a 45 card - I wouldn't be though.

Whats the point of taking 2 Public Terminal over a 3th Prepaid VoicePAD ?

14 May 2015 Softman25

Money mainly. The extra 1 buck is a big deal, and generally, 2/2 I've found is a good split - I've never really wanted more than 3 recurring overall - whether its 2/1 or 1/2. (prepaid / terminals)

I dunno, it's one of the things I'm not 100% satisfied with - but it's been working well enough, so I'm not really up for changing it.
