Install ALL THE THINGS!(1st Seed Wausau Regional, 6th place)

EDIT I was actually running Clot instead of parasite for the event.

I'd been playing Andy Stealth throughout the entirety of the SC season and shes done INCREDIBLY well ( I played in 5 SCs and averaged less then 1 loss per event). However, with the meta switching to Glacier, security testing as a main econ engine isn't nearly as effective as it once was.

Haley brings a good boost to the stealth archetype by allowing a faster setup due to her double install ability. With SMC's ability to tutor for either breakers or Cloaks, you now also have more consistency in getting setup. Clone chips also keeps her resilient to program trashing. A weakness that Andy always suffered. Lastly, Armitage is incredibly viable as a cheap, 0MU option to Magnum Opus as long as you are installing it with other resources which this deck packs plenty of.

From my extensive playtime with Stealth Andy I found almost 0 times where I needed more than 2 cloaks and 2 silencers to break through a server which is why I don't run any Lockpicks. That being said, having the ability to get up to 6MU to run 3x cloaks is very comforting.

Play style is pretty straight forward and old school. Build you rig, run anywhere for super cheap and eventually setup the R&D lock. Its not flashy but its highly effective. Nerve agent was an all star on the day, catching corps off guard since most tend to not ice up HQ much at all an can easily be tutored for with SMC.

Question: If you don't need more than 2 Cloaks and 2 Silencers to break through a server, why not drop 1 or 2 Silencers and swap them to Lockpicks and can now use the Cloak credits for Sentries instead, with more influence to play with?

Draw consistency and Switchblade requiring more stealth credits to function. Face checking a code gate without the proper number of stealth credits in play obviously isn't nearly as painful as face checking a sentry.

Any issues running out of counters on Cerberus "Lady" H1?

11 May 2015 Sotomatic

Honestly, that was my biggest fear and for the most part I didn't have an issue. I did run up against a triple Next Silver on HQ but thankfully I was already at 6 points. It seemed like the meta has moved to more codegates and sentries because of Lady's efficiency. That being said, Blacklist is becoming increasingly popular, so maybe adding a 1x snowball might not be out of the question.

How is early game econ? I ran Kati + Armitage in my original builds and found myself constantly poor early game, which is partially why I switched to Opus. I also switched due to the Butcher Shop matchup, which I really wanted to just out-money.

I've never had any issues with econ in this deck with everything being so cheap to install. I personally don't like MO in this deck because its too MU intensive. This deck doesn't need 10+ credits to be effective. 6 is usually the most I might spend in one turn for SMC into Lady or a Double daily Casts install.

Stealth requires patience, and the realization that you're never going to be able to steal every agenda the corp lays down. You may have to be able to give up an early agenda in order to lock them out mid to late game.

I am also a big believer that's its impossible to tech for every deck out there. You're always going to have bad some bad matchups and that's ok. If you try to tech for every possibility, you're deck is doing become deluded and less consistent. Bring something for the more common matchups, and worry about winning those and realize that you can't win them all.

Ran this deck on OCTGN last night against an HB glacier deck built around Eliza's. Long game, ended up pretty much fully installed, won 7-6 with the game ending in either direction that turn (he had a 5-3 down with two advancement counters on it.

I had some annoyance with my draw order (specifically, all three Silencers were in my bottom six cards), but that just meant I burnt through my Ghost Runners a little quicker than I would have liked. Felt like I trashed Caprice Nisei about six times, always annoying. Final turn I was bracing for a brutal double-run on a deep R&D (with all three R&D Interfaces installed) but when my opponent rezzed his R&D upgrade at the start of the run it turned out to be Heinlein Grid instead of Caprice - hooray for straightforward ice breaking runs!

Great deck, thanks for posting it.

Glad you enjoyed it! I fell in love with the efficiency of stealth when I was playing Andy during the SC season and was so excited to drop the basic shell into Haley. It was weird only having a 5 card opening hand when I started but it sets up so quick I don't miss it.

One thing I learned was that stealth is SO efficient that a lot of times I can completely ignore wasting time on trashing the corps econ. Corp has 30 credits and a 5 deep server? That's fine, I'll break the whole thing for 4 credits.

What are your thoughts on Replicator? I've seen it in several Hayley stealth builds (including my own) so I'm sure it's something that you considered. Do you just find that Diesel and Baby are enough to get you what you need in time?

Also, I'm curious about the 1-of Astrolabe. Did you ever have trouble finding it in time? Or do you not care too much about the extra draws and just want to use it as another MU?

11 May 2015 Sotomatic

The only thing I was ever really need to replicate for are the Silencers. But with the amount of support in this deck (3 x Cloak, 3 x Ghost Runner) As long as I had one it usually just fine which means I didn't need the replicators. The clone chips are there mostly to help support Lady or to be able to grab an SMC from the heap to build my rig faster... or Clot of course.

Diesel and Baby have been enough draw for me so far. I trade off the early game to gain the advantage in the mid to late game (Of course I'll still run an open RnD and whatever NEH drops down for fear of naked astro score).

You are correct. The Astrolabe is just a 4th mem chip. I suppose you could possibly go 2xAstrolabe and 2xAkamatsu. In my initial testing, I found that if I didn't draw into at least one mem chip early it made difficult to support a partial rig AND and SMC to get what I needed.

What was your worst matchup during the tournament?

Looks like a solid build, and congrats on top 8 finish!

12 May 2015 Sotomatic

I don't know that I had any really bad matchups. I faced 2 Blue Suns, 1 HB, 1 RP, 1 NEH Fastro and 1 NEH Meat. My losses came to the NEH meat because I didn't sniff it out, (I died on something like turn 3 or 4 to a midseason into scorch into traffic accident after stealing an NAPD) and then to Jens NEH FA in the elims due to forgetting to install the clone chip in my hand with clot in my heap while we were tied 6-6 and him top decking a Breaking news that very next turn for the win (I won 7-3 vs his deck in round 1). I would think PE would probably be my worst match up as it plays too poor to really use Feedback Filter.

I can't help but notice that you've mentioned clot a couple times, but it's not in your deck list. Is that parasite actually supposed to be clot?

16 May 2015 Sotomatic

Yes. For the tournament I swapped parasite with clot.

17 May 2015 Radiea

Would there be any cause to use Dagger?

17 May 2015 Sotomatic

I'm personally a huge advocate of Switchblade over Dagger simply because it breaks sentries for free, saving me money to play other things.

This looks almost like what I made but with Kate:

netrunnerdb.com

I will try it out with Hayley and see what I get. Some minor changes for me might be MagOp removed and add back in ArmCB. I might consider an Atman - Newer glacier decks running lots of walls to counter lady tokens.

18 May 2015 wily-odysseus

Are Diesel and Baby ProCo enough draw? I haven't really experimented much with Hayley yet, but I would worry that her ability will be draining your hand faster than you can consistently fill it without clicking for draws.

18 May 2015 Sotomatic

@striker511 Looks like you linked your private deck so I unfortunately can't view it. I'm actually looking at testing Snowball or battering ram in place of Lady if the meta switches to high barrier counts.

@wdfulton So far draw hasn't been an issue. I tend to not run anything for the 1st few rounds (except for NBN of course for fear of a naked Astro score). If they aren't threatening to score I have no reason to and even then I'm usually ok giving up one agenda early. Also, because this is a Shaper deck, most corps are too squimish to try and push out an agenda behind a 1 ice server since SMC is a thing. Because the breakers are so crazy efficient I tend not to care how many credits the corp has to rez things since most ice only breaks for 0 - 2 credits allowing me to ignore any drip econ they have going (saves me clicks I use to draw and money I use to setup).

I love this deck, but how does it get through Curtain Wall?

19 May 2015 Arkhon

If you were having such success with stealth Andy then why change for Hayley? Do you think she has a better long game than Andromeda?

19 May 2015 Sotomatic

@TonyStellato 7 credits and 2 counters :) Honestly though that was my biggest fear, and I faced two on the day and won both very convincingly. If a barrier heavy meta becomes a thing then you could easily look at swapping Lady for either Snowball or Battering Ram.

@Arkhon A few reasons actually.
- I didn't feel Security testing was a good econ engine in the post clot glacier meta.
- Haley sets up faster due to her double install ability.
- SMC is superior to Special Order since you don't have to guess which breaker you need, plus it can be clone chipped back and it can be used to tutor cloak making the setup FAR more consistent.
- Clone chip also shores up Andy's weakness of program destruction - Clot can easily be played with Haley where it wouldn't be an option in Andy

how about -1 lady +1 atman? can be boosted with cloak targeting whatever common barrier the corp is running like Elis

tried out the deck and i went with -1 silencer -1 R&D interface +1 utopia +1 parasite to decent result as parasite does help quite a bit with troublesome ices like data raven

Cool deck! I was trying to concoct something similar. I went the hardware/Replicator route (replicating Lockpick/Silencer/Akamatsu Mem Chip/Clone Chip seems amazing.) I'm not a particularly experienced player, but it seemed like a cool synergistic build that fit perfectly with Hayley.

Is there a particular reason you don't run Personal Workshop? It could let you trigger Hayley's ability on the Corp's turn more often (I assume you usually use SMC/CC on your own turn during runs), and could be considered minor drip econ. Is it just too slow, are you not hardware/program heavy enough, or something else?

Also, are you worried about a scored Chronos Project at an inopportune time? If they manage to remove one of your breakers... That's always my fear when I play with singleton breakers.

21 May 2015 Chio

Having tried this out with a only a swap of - Refractor, + Study Guide. I gotta say it works pretty well.

I love Study Guide + recurring credits for pump during turns when I have no reason to run.

I think he stayed away from personal workshop because, really ... there are only a few pieces of software and hardware to install. Most of the Hayley triggers seem to be resources.

My regular training partner though has a tendancy to stack ice DEEP ... as in 7 deep... so I nearly ran out of lady before just barely grabbing the last agenda I needed.

Government Takeover Blue Sun: Powering the Future decks that run plenty of barriers might be quite a problem for this deck ... I think im going to try it with a Battering Ram.

Using stealth only for Switchblade lets me actually use the Cloak credits for all sorts of things without having to worry about running out of stealth before getting to the bottom of a server. So I might consider dropping one of the silencers for ... something... not sure what yet.
