DataSwitch - 5th Seed Irish Regionals, 6th overall

MikeJS 678

Deck performed respectably at the Irish Regional Championships on Saturday 23rd May. I had 1 loss in Swiss, and 1 in top 8, both to RP, but I maintain it has a better match-up than most against it. This is based on the Jack Carvis deck, with a couple of changes.

Plascrete (2 of them in fact) make an appearance because of my fear of getting my house burned down.

+1 Kati and -1 Sec Testing which was 100% the right call in an RP heavy-meta. Kati made me loads on money on the day. Security Testing is far less profitable when 5 of your 7 opponents are playing RP.

Emergency Shutdown because Blue Sun was big in our meta (not at Regionals however). Overall, a bad call, and I'd stick with Inside Job given the chance.

No Earthrise and I didn't miss it. YMMV, but 4 credits can be a lot when you're facing taxing decks all day.

I also cut to 1 Switchblade. I believe this is the right call, but honestly can't be sure as I didn't even install the card all day. 3 Faeries was enough to deal with what I faced.

Biggest change by far is that the original deck plays Cyber-Cypher, but I went with Atman. Atman was undoubtedly my MVP on the day, usually at str 4, where it laughs in the face of Eli, Lotus Field, Cortex Lock, Ashigaru (as much as that card can be laughed at), and a bunch of other ice. Try it yourself, she is amazing, even without sucker support.

What would I change... -1 Plascrete, -1 E. Shutdown, +1 Legwork, +1 Inside Job. After that, who knows.

Would be interested to get feedback, especially from people who might have played against me.
