Waterpile 248

After playing some trap versions of this deck and finding consistency to be the biggest issue, I opted to go for a giant money pile and a flatline version.

Agendas are interesting in Gag, and the biggest thing I want to be able to do is score an overadvanced Project Atlas to get my pieces in order early. Midseason Replacements is incredibly valuable in an opening hand. If I can't score the Atlas then I want to score the Private Security Force. Even if this tips the runner off (which it certainly will), once they have 12 tags from the Midseasons, it's nearly game over.

DBS helps find Scorched Earth and Midseasons fantastically. And the amount of money I've found in this deck is incredible, especially if I can lay down a protected The Root. If the Melange Mining Corp. isn't checked, it could be an Atlas or a Superior Cyberwalls. Meanwhile, if the runner decides to check every remote, they'll pay to get past ice, then you'll get paid with Paywall Implementation, easily my favorite card in the deck.

The ice is quite interchangeable. Really I was just going for very taxing ice. Fire Wall is amazing, especially with The Root. Have a turn you don't really need to do much? Advance the Fire Wall a couple times. D4vid will run out, Corroder is ridiculous and Lady is about as close as you'll get to efficiently breaking it. Opted for some Quicksand over Ice Wall. Only 2 more, throw them on centrals and watch it grow. Superior Cyberwalls makes these guys even better and adds to the tax. Errand Boy for more money or cards if you're really desperate for your combo. Negotiator because they'll usually give you the 2. Excalibur can go on the central they're pressuring the most. Usually not too effective with Eater out though. But if they have no AI breaker, they're limited to one run. That'll save you from Indexing for a turn at least.

Combo is standard, but Reclamation Order gives you the second go around very quickly. Land Midseasons early enough and grab your Scorched Earths with Atlas/DBS. Even with 2 Plascretes out, still play the triple Scorch. Next turn, Reclamation Order them back to your hand and protect more to get ready for the win. If you have a PSF, you play based on how well they're protecting themselves. If they fail to draw, odds are you'll have at least one/two Scorched Earth in your hand for the flatline.

Bluff all your 3-advance agendas out as NAPDs and you'll find a semi-poor runner discouraged to run through ice, then pay 1 to access, then pay 4 to steal, only to be tagged for the rest of the game by Midseasons.

I really like this deck. Some of the ICE is dubious because it's new, but otherwise its a great list. I love Private Security Force.

@hi_impact Thanks. Ice in this deck is pretty flexible. My staple is definitely Fire Wall. Any other taxing ice is great. I usually only end up with one ice on any remote because no one wants to get through, spend the extra cred just to see an asset which gives you one cred from Paywall Implementation. I think PSF is underused. Even if it doesn't result in a flatline, it gets rid of valuable Runner cards while they're scrambling to clear tags.

What does Excalibur even do in this deck? Without Caprice or Ash, there's no pressing need for multiple runs on the same server. In runs across multiple servers, the runner will just hit the Excalibur one last.

I love this deck idea. I made a couple changes to it, tell me what you think. I swapped out 3x Project Atlas for 3x Oaktown Renovation. These agendas scream 'steal me!' and the runner will be forced to, or else watch you grow stupid rich.

I dropped Melange Mining Corp, and replaced them with Executive Boot Camp. With the additions of Oaktown Renovation, this deck I think is just crazy overboard with economy (which is a good thing!), but I thought I could afford to use a little more utility. Boot Camp lets you grab out that solitary The Root if you want it, and also provides some insurance against Blackmail decks.

Excalibur became Wendingo, which I think gives some nice utility. You can blackball their killers, allowing your Sentry 'pay me' ice to fire, or worst case scenario it'll force them to install a decoder AND fracter to get through your walls.

@Glitch29 I've used Excalibur on R&D quite a bit against non-Eater decks. Gives you a little more control against Indexing and such. This deck used to have Ash in it, but I opted for a more focused strategy. Namely the flatline.

I've found runners that focus on R&D pressure to either 1. Continue running R&D just once per turn. or 2. Focus on HQ instead, which is where I have more control. I'll often hold an NAPD in there just for the Midseasons.

As stated above, the ice is pretty flexible, I think. I went for "mostly" taxing ice to discourage runs on multiple servers and drain the Runner's cash if they decide the do want to run everywhere.

@imtav I like the changes you've made. I have also replaced the Melanges with Boot Camps and found great success with them. They absolutely help out against Valencia/Leela decks. The deck at that point, for me, still has plenty of money to support the Midseasons land. It is important to protect The Root very well as most good Runners will recognize the value and trash it when they can. But honestly, I've looked for more deckspace to fit at least 1 more in since it essentially pays for most normal actions on your turn.

The Atlas is in there to fetch the important cards when you aren't drawing them. Midseasons when they steal the agenda, Scorched Earth when you catch them a card short. I haven't tried Oaktown Renovation, but like I said before, my playstyle has seen plenty of money without it. I'll typically bluff out any Atlas as an NAPD to discourage the run on low cash.

Like I've stated above, I think the ice is incredibly flexible in this deck. I'm going for discouraging ice that either gives me money or makes it very taxing to break for the runner. Either that or they see some of the ice subroutines of the ice as insignificant, like gaining money on Errand Boy, Caduceus and Negotiator. And whether they break those subroutines or not, I'm still gaining money from Paywall Implementation just for them to check my assets. But I do like you Wendigo thinking as well.
