Los Muertos Del Parque

krystman 2831

Result of a testing session with Rembrand. It's an econ denial Armand "Geist" Walker: Tech Lord. Some insights:

  • You want to have Muertos Gang Member on your starting hand! Facecheck into ice. Derez immediately for massive corp tempo loss. The bigger the ice, the better. Keep facechecking until you get the corp to rez everything. Then pop Muertos. It's hilarious.

  • Forged Activation Orders helps to force the corp to rez ice if they refuse to do it on their own. This is great to get big ice out of the way so you can pop the Muertos Gang Member for the card draw - especially early game.

  • Clone Chip + Crescentus away any strong ice you encounter. Depending on how well the corp is doing, even something like an Eli may be worth it. You get 2 cards from it!

  • Regular breakers instead of B&E. No central-only BS either. They give more deckspace and require less setup to get going.

  • Same Old Thing + Career Fair allows you to daisy chain Daily Casts and Earthrise Hotel pretty well!

  • Needs a tiny bit more stable econ. Thinking about squeezing a Kati Jones in there somewhere.

  • A second Clone Chip and a second Same Old Thing would be stellar too! Hades Shard may not be entirely necessary.

  • Not sure about Desperado yet.

  • R&D Interface could be Maker's Eye since that can be recurred with Same Old Thing

  • Needs a way to trash assets to go with the econ denial theme. Perhaps Drive By?

No Emergency Shutdown? For even more and targeted derezzing?

@Voron nope. Emergency Shutdown can be easily countered by icing up HQ. Which is also great against Account Siphon. With Armand I found Crescentus a lot more useful. It is less predictable, more immediate. No need to find your way into HQ. Just derez that Tollbooth right here and now. And you get the card draw too! And it has easier recursion! However, it needs the right support. Previous versions had me curse for using it over Shutdown.

I can't quit you, @krystman...even when you partner up with the gangs.

If you can find the influence, have you considered Scrubber? Wholly underrated card in an asset-heavy meta, and a steal at 1 pip.

Looks pretty scatchy to me ... Working on a Geist control deck myself, but this is definitely not it.

Not counting the Muertos Gang Member since its super situational to draw with, you have 7 cards to draw with. I have no idea why this isn't Andy, Gabe, or Leela.

@hi_impact 7 cards is already 3 card more than Andy gets ;) Also, Clone Chip can recur Crescentus so we get get up to 9 cards. Muertos gets you at 13. Especially with Forged Activation Orders you are almost guaranteed to fire them off early at least once.

Generally, I don't buy into the "why isn't this an X" mindset. We had a lot of those comments when Leela came around too.

What if my meta is full of cheap ice? Pup, pop-up, and troll see seem to be in every opening hand I ever play against, so Muertos Gang Member just doesn't seem like it will do any good.

I want to sub them out. I was thinking another crescentus, a Plascrete, and a drive-by. What do you think?

Yeah, this guy hates Pop-Up, Pup and Quandary. That's why I decided to go with Yog instead of the Cloud breaker suite. If they have just cheap ice, you'll get in anyway.

I was running a 3rd Crescentus and I didn't like it. 3 cards is reserved for stuff you NEED to see on the starting hand. I'm fine getting a Crescentus just a couple of rounds in when I spotted Ice that I want to derez.

But go ahead and experiment!
