More Generic Cambridge - Top 16 Nationals 2015

ism 496

This deck inadvertently evolved into almost a solid mirror of Mihn Tran's PE list from World's in 2014. There's really not much to say about it, other than False Lead does a lot more work than people give it credit for.

Edit: I'm a moron.

lockdown is so strong

how often did you land a kitsune and did you think it was worth the slot?

@vestiphobe in this tournament I don't think I ever landed it and in the days leading up to it had been experimenting with losing it for an Allele Repression, but I'm glad that I didn't for two reasons: 1) 12 ice is a rather scarce amount and I'd rather not make that any scarcer, and 2) even if it never fired, it is a scary piece of ice. 2 cards to break with Faust which I saw a lot of (or one card and a datasucker token) and it makes a lot of runners dodgy about running either the Kitsune server or HQ even if I know I have absolutely nothing dangerous in my hand.

How is lockdown working for you. I see how it can work in your deck. I don't think It would work well I'm my PE build. My deck seems to be milling whole decks not sure if lockdown works In it. Does lockdown just set you up for a kill or is it having other effects you may have discovered?

@Creedsk8 it's honestly the strongest piece of ice in my deck next to Cortex Lock. I saw a lot of Faust decks at GenCon and people trashing 3 cards to break it is hilarious to me; otherwise turning off I've Had Worse is enough of an effect. But it's taxing with most decoders and can be really nice early game to prevent people from drawing up parts of their rig.

The best thing I noticed with it, though, is it was getting people to start running click 4 to save credits. Draw draw draw -> run. When they get in this pattern it's the perfect time to rez a Komainu or pray they hit a snare. Because they still have to discard down after that, and they aren't clearing that tag. It keeps them from dying but they waste a lot of hit points that way.

I heard on bad pub you are experiencing people in your meta running feedback and stuff like that. I'm seeing a tad bit of teching against me here in Pitt but not really by the top players. Are you seeing much of that at store tournament level and if so how are you fairing against it. I'm getting pretty good at sniping levies with chronos. I also recently added emp's because my deck usually mills first and I was getting tired of people just running at me with no cards at end game. A couple months ago at tournament this happened to me running IG and of course he had feedback out and I took a timed loss.

@Creedsk8 I'm curious as to where you heard that, actually. But in my meta there are only maybe one or two people who actually run net damage protection, Daine (http://netrunnerdb.com/en/profile/750/Daine) being one of them, and even then it was solely slotted because of this deck. I know Daine at least took out his FF for nationals because nobody was anticipating net damage-heavy decks.

So to answer your question, it was basically only at the store tournament level that I was seeing it. :P

@Eris_Another Any interest in fitting in Back Channels?

15 Aug 2015 ism

I've been considering it. Trade out Sweeps Week for a couple of them and upgrade my 2 Quandaries to Elis, but they might have the Celebrity Gift Problem of not being usable when you draw them, so they're a dead draw. Sweeps Week, on the other hand, affects how the runner plays with their hand size. If they it, they don't want to give you money so they try to keep a lower hand size. This deck doesn't do a lot of install-advance-advance, as I've played it, as basically none of my traps are advanceable. If you want to consider running it, try moving up to 54 to allow some room for junebugs.

I think a Back Channel version would want Junebug. You do have 2 overwriters but probably not enough. I've been running it in a Cybernetics trap deck and it is awesome there. Been looking to try it out of PE but maybe this isn't the right base.

@Creedsk8 When I referenced Feedback Filter on ANR Bad Publicity it was in reference to the list running two FF specifically, that it had been included solely to combat this deck. I meant to describe Eris's deck as very strong and she as an exceptional player that others should go to such lengths to prepare specifically for her. Perhaps I mis-phrased it, but I meant it as Eris has described it here. I received my information from Josh Wilson. I did not mean to mislead you with my words - for that I apologize.

@Eris_Another Though I doubt you recall, we met quite briefly during the Top 16 rounds following your elimination. I was with Jesse Vandover, inquiring whether you intended to post your decks. I had expressed great interest in your runner as it seemed a very powerful choice that yielded great dividends. Once again, well done at GenCon. Your lists did not disappoint. Thanks again for posting them.
