6th place runner North American Nationals

flowerscandrink 188

Nationals record with this deck: 5-2 in Swiss. 1-1 in top 16 bracket.

Nothing too crazy here. Most notably is that I don't run I've Had Worse or Daily Casts. Leading up to nationals I felt that DC was only needed in games when I didn't draw an Aesop's and with Wyldside and Peddler that's very rare. Unfortunately the one time it happened to me was in Top 16 against Lucas (the champ). Even without drawing a single Aesop's or Faust (and one Cache all game) I managed to get on 5 points against his fastro and could have won the game if I'd run archives my last click instead of RnD again. I think cutting DC is the right call currently.

I've been arguing for weeks that noise does not currently need IHW. I teched this deck pretty hard for NEH match ups. In order to pilot this deck against butchershop or any other midseasons deck, you have to imp every installed agenda and check every remote. It is a little tricky but my win rate against these decks is great. With 3x Imp, 3x Deja and 3x Clone Chip you have more than enough imps to keep the corporation completely shutdown. 2x Clot makes it easy to slow down the Astro train.

The deck already has a great RP match up because of parasite. The HBFA match up is pretty good too. I have played zero Weyland with this deck but I'm pretty sure it can hold up to Blue Sun.

Congrats on your performance! What did you think of Cyberfeeder and have you considered Scheherazade?

@johncraven Thanks! I loved Cyberfeeder. The deck runs so light on econ that you almost always get huge value out of it (either through installing viruses or using it to fuel an icebreaker). Also works great for messing with people's clot math. They see you are at 0 or 1 credits and might miss the fact that you can still clot if you have one or two unused CF out.

I tested with Schez and was unhappy with it. Lots of people are playing Batty/Ichi and landing one trash program on Schez is pretty bad if you have a whole rig on there.

You should only be installing transient pieces on hera (cache, imp, lamprey, clot, and if you're using him up right away dave). That said I go back and forth on CF and hera, but I'm leaning towards hera at this time. Totally right about casts. Its already pretty sketchy econ baseline, its made good by aesop's, but if you have aesop's, you don't need it.

Congrats man, Texas represent! I can imagine how awesome that tournament was.

@hi_impact Thanks man! I was hoping to see you there. I played Kyle from Dallas in the top 16. I think he got 3rd or 4th.

@x3r0h0ur why not include both?

Oh damn .... I'm sooo not sold on Street Peddler in this deck .. I've been sim drawing with your deck and when you get stuff like Grimoire or Wyldside, or your only Corroder+ 1/2 Adjusted Chronotype on Street Peddler .... it feels pretty underwhelming

You play multiples of all the cards, so thinning your deck of duplicates is very good. Plus it's an influence free mash-up of Clone Chip and Diesel. Seriously, it's a massively useful card.

5 Aug 2015 Dydra

Yeah and even so... My point is, imagine you have Wyldside down, and you want to hit your adjusted but you badly need the singlethon of Corroder you have and getting it back would mean wasting a clone chip on it, rather parasite for instant kill or clot for fast-advance stop ... What do you do? Do u discard the Adjusted and hope that your last one is not in the bottom 5-10 cards ... or what? Cuz we can all agree, playing with 3 clicks for most of the game doesn't cut it ...

It's just those type of tough situations that the card puts you in ... Yeah you could Deja Vu and install it, but at what cost? 2 clicks and 5c ...

Well your decision should depend on the board state of course.

Either way, Noise can cope without Corroder and Chronotype; you should see both of them as luxuries. Especially Corroder. Between Faust, Parasite, David and just running elsewhere, you have a lot of other ways to play around barriers.

I think this line of reasoning holds with a lot of examples you could give with Peddler. These perceived disadvantages do not weigh equally vs. the large advantages the card gives you.

It is possible. I'm yet to put it in any of my decks. Been playing mostly a Geist and haven't played at all last 2-3 weeks.

I'll give it a try in a new Quetzal or/and Noise deck that I want to test ... Considering that Spoilers are coming out next pack and that I already made a deck with them ... Street Peddler needs to have a huge value to not get cut

Pretty sure this dydra guy has real life brain damage.

@Dydra basically peddler increases the skill ceiling for piloting the deck probably, which is a good thing. Puts you in situations where you have to make tough decisions, it's good. Noise is full of situational cards, so you have to favor different cards in different contexts. You have to know your matchups.

Hey - Does anyone feel like Trope might find a spot in this deck? If so what would you remove for it?

8 Aug 2015 flowerscandrink

@LazyMcCrow Yes, I'll probably drop a Lamprey for Trope and see how it goes. Also likely cutting a clone chip so I can slot film critic and hades.
