Armored Turtle, v4 (Test build)

Stirling is very well-positioned in the meta and the release of Drive By further cements that position.

Drive By is a powerful card: Early on it ties directly into Stirling's plan of slowing down the Corp, it allows him to be much more aggressive by saving him those 4-5 credits he normally spends trashing advertisment campaigns and later in the game it assures complete remote control when paired with Unregistered S&W '35.

The latter interaction may seem gimmicky but it's actually very strong, as most decks in the meta rely heavily on Caprice to score and are unable to keep Stirling out without her. Matchups that used to be tense, like Genomics and RP are now much more favourable for this.

The matchups I'm worried about are the fast advance decks, be them NBN or HB.

Neither is a bad matchup per se, Drive By has made HB a good matchup again and spamming Legwork and Medium is as great as ever against NBN. But they are fast decks and I find that Stirling never gains as much of an advantage as he should, sometimes they just win and even if I win more often than them I don't like allowing my opponent to do that without a fight.

When playing against these matchups I wish my deck was a bit leaner and I think the already-great matchups can be toned down a bit to make these mediocre matchups much more competitive.

The question is: Can I take out The Supplier? It's a slow card and hence I almost never install it in these two matchups but without him it's significantly harder to play Dyson Mem Chip and other board-control cards that give Stirling so much strenght later in the game. Career Fair is not a good replacement because you need to install hardware and I wouldn't know what to do with its slot even if the deck worked well without it.

You're running Dyson Mem Chips, so drop one Inside Job, one Legwork, and one Mr. Li for 3x Underworld Contact. Tags are about to get SCARY, so I'd drop the 3x Tri-maf Contact for 2x Career Fair and a Kati Jones. Drop one The Supplier for a third Career Fair. If you want to drop The Supplier completely, lose the second one and go down to one Mr. Li to add two copies of Hostage.

I've played a similar deck for a while—I think you want more draw (Earthrise Hotel might work). I run more connection and fewer programs, so I use Off-Campus Apartment. You want your drip econ out ASAP, so finding those cards is key. Career Fair helps because you can overdraw and play two cards at once.

I would trade out a Tri-maf for another Supplier to ensure you get him early. Also, Beckman Doesn't really seem to bring anything to the table for her cost. Especially since she can be lost so easily (no tag prevention).

I am not sure about the 3 Mr. Lis, especially with logos in play. Cutting it down to a 2-of would put you back to 45 as well.

I am curious about your inclusion of Folding instead of UC. I see how the memory works out, but you only need a single to turn it on as opposed to managing your memory usage. It also has a cheaper installation, even without the supplier to mitigate the cost.

@Scud

Running both Data Folding and Underworld Contact leads to slow, anemic hands incapable of pressuring the Corporation, specially if you if you drop vital cards like Inside Job and Legwork.

Tri-Mafs are necessary to destroy assets early on and to gain 6+ credits per turn later, something Kati is unable to do. And as I said, Career Fair doesn't work well because the main bottleneck is not installing resources, but installing Dyson.

I also tried Hostage and ended up cutting it because if you can justify its expense you don't need The Supplier and if you don't need the Supplier it's better to just add more Mr Lis. Mr Li is one of the most important cards in the deck and I prefer having as many copies of him as possible.

The problem is that against HB FA and NBN FA it's often not woth installing The Supplier even if it's on your opening hand because you can't spare 3 credits now for a discount later.

Folding is preferred to UC because it's faster; you can play them turn one and start making money while UC requires you to find and install another card. In the long run there's not much of a difference but it's huge early on.

Beckman helps to seal-up games, specially against slower archetypes. Getting one more hit out of Medium, allowing you to bypass Bioroids more easily or simply having one more click against RP every turn is a bigger difference than it seems at first glance. She's also cheaper than it seems at first glance because she helps pay for herself and you have a "cushion" of credits.

No Siphon? It's the best way to stop FA without Gang Sign. And you're not even running Gang Sign...

@153351

My first builds ran Siphon, but they didn't do much since you can't do anything with the short-term advantage it gives.

I haven't tried Gang Sign yet.
