Halloween Town v1.1

SpellSlinger 109

Zombies (DDos), Skulls (Brain Cage), Unspeakable Horrors (Hunting Grounds), and Demons (Faust)...Whizzard welcomes you to his own little corner of the Net he calls Halloween Town!

I feel like this is pretty standard Faust deck and llama66613 does a good job of breaking down the original but I'll break down my version to compare.

Aggressive draw with Inject, Quality Time, Wyldside/Adjusted Chronotype, and I've Had Worse. With only 11 programs in a 50 card deck, Inject is usually 1 credit to draw 4. To address that elephant in the room, I went with 50 cards because it doesn't affect the probability too terribly and once Wyldside is up and running you'll draw through everything pretty quick. I considered a second Levy at one time for God's sake!

D4v1d is for the big Ice that Faust won't reach easily. Parasite/Clone Chip shenanigans, also the ability to Clone chip a Faust back if someone thinks they're clever with a Swordsman, Deja Vu does some good work there also. Parasite pulls down a Turing and the aforementioned Swordsman as well so we can handle the deck's weaknesses. Most of them anyway. E3 to save you some cards for those really taxing Ice like Tsurugi or Curtain Wall. Brain Cage to get more of those precious cards into your hand to stay.

Career Fair plus any of our money makers are great as well, that's all pretty standard stuff. Medium digs without much to stop you. If they purge it gives you an opportunity to click Liberated and take a breather. This deck can go hard right out out of the gate if you have even a small semblance of a good opening hand. In the testing I've done I'm usually set up by turn four at the latest. As always, with statements like that though, YMMV.

What shines is the new DDos and Hunting Grounds. DDos is an on demand Inside Job to every server if timed properly and is especially brutal early game. Hunting Grounds, in my opinion, is possibly Apex's best card. Being able to ignore Tollbooth or Data Raven's "on encounter" abilities just shuts them down. Also completely blanking a Troll is hilarious. Sure, you'll probably never use its trash ability, but for one influence it's main utility is awesome.

When you run out of steam Levy is there to pick you back up and do it again! The party doesn't stop in Whizzard's Halloween Town! Speaking of Whizzard, I chose him instead of the more traditional Quetzal for this build because Assets and Upgrades are becoming more and more prevalent and ridiculous. Data and Destiny is going to see them grow bigger and badder and a free three credits to knock them down a peg will make Whizzard shine in the coming meta I believe. We'll see though.
