Industrial Thumbscrews (4th Place RoP GNK - Modified)

Mechanoise 1590

This deck saw me 4th place at the 13-head Rules of Play Summer GNK in Cardiff, and in the lead-up to the event it had won nearly all of its matches. This published version contains minor modifications to the exact build I took, which only seek to enhance its concept design.

Derived from my initial Needle Pit deck, Industrial Thumbscrews expands that deck design to put pressure on the Runner, restrict their capacity to operate, and capitalize on their key mistakes.

The biggest change came from removing House of Knives and replacing it with False Lead. While the 'Death by 1000 cuts' method utilizes a House of Knives for further damage, False Lead bring about a bigger impact, reminding the Runner that the old-adage of "Never run Jinteki last click" will now apply to their 2nd click.

The 'Hounds of Knives', (House of Knives, Komainu, Corporate Troubleshooter), combo has been scrapped, due to this deck being more efficient and less about economical advantage. Scoring 2 False Leads is where you want to be, as the threat of forfeiting both False Leads to give yourself an immediate second turn is powerful, especially with a Ronin in HQ and the Runner down to less than 3 cards in their grip.

Draw engines, such as Wyldside and Drug Dealer are the priority targets to shut down, and the tags received from Data Raven or Snare! can be capitalized on if the Runner ever receives them on their second / last click.

The goal is pressure and restriction, waiting for the Runner to make a wrong move before you strike them for the Flatline. There are multiple kill options in this deck, and like many Jinteki builds the dangers are interchangeable: Blacklist, Neural EMP, etc.

I will be refining this deck further after Data & Destiny is released, where more fun can be had with Genetics Pavilion and News Team.

The big question for me is...Did you use Allele Repression at all? :D

@Erik_Twice yes, once. It acts as a great way to double scorch from the card, or to fetch all your Snares from the trash when you are getting Legworked.
