And Now The Weather

This deck's currently undefeated, which isn't to say Film Critic doesn't ruin it, just that I've yet to have a game where it came out in time to be useful. But there are one or two ways around the Critic, and for everyone else, it's seriously tough going.

The Haarpsichord Studios ID gives you so many ways to engineer lose-lose board states for the runner. If they check every remote and trash every asset, they'll probably struggle for the cash to fend off your Midseasons. If they don't, just leaving one Early Premiere on the table can be deadly with Breaking News around.

Breaking News and Early Premiere are the superstars of the deck, making turn-two kills a very real threat. TGTBT and Explode-a-palooza are just great, especially at punishing multi-accesses. Astros? You really don't need 'em, but scoring them's always good. It's also very easy to just score an early False Lead, turtle up and play the waiting game.

Matrix Analyzer: Previously Troll, but I swapped it out and never looked back. These are great for creating two little scoring servers with an agenda in each: if they run one, advance the other ready for scoring it next turn.

I'll say again, this deck is just very, very hard for a runner to play around if they're not packing Film Critic. If they are, your best bet is probably to hope you can get a False Lead or Breaking News scored by any means :P

Any way you can fit SEA Source in? Works well instead of Midseason Replacements if they're rocking Film Critic.

Very good point! Might be worth swapping out a PAD or a Pop-Up for one.

Oh my goodness I love this. Matrix Analyzer is fantastic stuff. My only recommendation would be trying to stuff a Snatch and Grab or two in just in case of Film Critic.

I like the cut of your jib, young Mr Paca. I've been fiddling with my own version of Hurtsichord, but I'm going back and forth about whether to keep the SanSan option there. I can also highly recommend both SEA and S&G as good ways to kill Kati and Film Critic (always good to kill her when she's got an agenda sitting on her).

Very interested to see Early Premiere getting some table time, I haven't even considered its role in this kind of deck. Do you think, though... that Beale is not a perfect fit? With an Astro you can easily turn a Beale into a 5/3 from a facedown install!

I think SanSan could definitely have a place, if only to make them to waste credits trashing unrezzed ones. This deck does lack serious options for playing the money game, and SanSan's more flexible than, say, Closed Accounts.

Beale's always an option but, as with Butcher Shop, if you really are trying to score out you're probably in trouble. 90% of the time you need to be setting up a kill. I've had one really close call where a careful runner made it to 6 points, forcing me to dump my useless Midseasons, but luckily a scored False Lead saved the day.

Hmm, in that case, maybe Universal Connectivity Fee? I've set up a couple of kills with this when it's sitting underneath a Raven as the runner needs three clicks to clear their tag after, or if they're hitting an agenda they are in a perfect Midseason spot, usually being on a handful of creds.

I like this style and I like the deck, my main concern however is simple - how do you get enough money to ever actually land a midseasons? With only 3 sweeps and 3 hedge it seems like most runners will find it trivial to get enough cash to not be worried.

Don't forget Explode-a-palooza, the secret economy card :D Also you have PAD, Pop-Up and the fact that most of your ice costs next to nothing.

Landing a Midseasons can still be tough against a careful runner, but then you've always got Breaking News and False Lead, which tend to hit them when they think they're safe from Midseasons.
