Experimental Valencia #1

River 27

Experimental Deck.

Note I: I didn't realise that Eden Shard costs one influence, in fact, I could have sworn that the card itself doesn't even show that it does. So the influence situation is a little shaky. However, Eden Shard isn't central to my strategy and can be switched out for a different card if need be.

Note II: I've taken out Eden Shard on here and replaced it with a second Earthrise Hotel, just to allow me to publish this deck.

The main aim of this deck is to destroy any ICE that the Runner is using to protect their servers using the Cutlery in combination with Eater. Investigative Journalism is handy for the obvious reason, the only downside to it is that it costs the Runner their entire turn to use it. Unfortunately I don't have the Data Pack containing Blackmail just yet, but when I get it, I'll doubtless include it.

Trope is there to regain cards used by Faust, as are the Déjà Vu's.

There's enough (perhaps a little too much), economy in this deck, which is useful so that I'm always running and checking ICE in order to the use my Cutlery on it.

Gang Sign is a crutch, I know, but I find that it more than makes up for the monumental cost of using Faust. Especially as I don't have any cards that increase my hand size yet.

I've Had Worse is there in order to quick draw enough cards to use Faust with in case I have a tower or expensive ICE to break through.

Right! Over to you fine folks!

What, if any, changes would you recommend I make to this deck?

Every comment is appreciated!

Personally I don't like this deck since it lacks too many potential that you can pull off while having too many fillers.

The first problem I have with this deck is Turing and maybe a very rarely seen Swordsman. I know because I'm testing an Anarch deck with AI myself, even though I don't have full access to the card library. A deck focusing on using Eater to brute force is dead when either one of those two above shows up.

Lacking aggressive multiple access cards is just a bummer. Where is Medium and maybe instead of triple Gang Sign you should go with HQ Interface or Legwork. Comet is a bad choice imo because while you save a click and it serves as a way to continue your destruction, you do not have the consistent economy to support it. Why? You waste too much clicks doing ... stuffs. Day Job, Investigative Journalism and Armitage Codebusting can't really keep you up all the time. Bank Job is interesting and I like the choices especially a lot of Corp decks like to run assets atm. Personally I think you should focus more on cards which are rewarding for making runs.

Missing Blackmail is a let-down, but even when you have it, R&D is still kinda safe. Right now I can't remember exactly but this deck is going to have a lot of problems against Jinteki, NEH and especially Blue Sun.

@iceqs Turing isn't a problem, it's just expensive as Hell to bypass. Having said that, I always run first click against HB.

Speaking of the card library, I probably should have stated which cards my pool is composed of.

I own 1 Core Set, Order and Chaos, Upstalk, The Source, The Underway and Old Hollywood. So many of the cards you've mentioned I also don't have, yet.

I'm not a fan of using Virus' as my local Meta is flooded with Cyberdex Virus Suite and constant purges.

Out of the Consoles available to me, Comet made the most sense as I'm running an event heavy deck. I did briefly consider Vigil too, however, I find it to be too reliant upon the Corp being at their maximum hand size.

This deck isn't meant to run Central Servers. Eater is there to force them to rez their remote ICE, then I'll gobble those up with my cutlery and on my next click, voila, the card belongs to me.

I checked Eden Shard and it does cost 1 Influence so I've switched it out for Itinerant Protesters. However, I'm considering taking it out, along with the 3 Investigative Journalism cards.
