Tactical Turtleneck Public Sympathy Shield

trianglesoup 13

This was the runner deck I took to the Public Sympathy Shield Tournament in Stockport last weekend. It went 4 -1, beating a Harpsichord deck, two TWIY midseason decks and a titan transnational deck. The loss was to a Harmony Medtech deck.

The deck isn't super top tier but I've found it performs rather well. Late game it aims to have a lot of click-less credits from underworld contacts and data folding enabling you to contest servers with boostable breakers and a load of cash. The interfaces make use of the supplier discount and aim to make hq and r&d runs efficient even if the corp has a pretty taxing set up. Film critic works well with Iain's ability letting you steal agenda's earlier without advancing the points in your score area. It also doubles up as mid season protection which I've found to be the more common kill method in decks (certainly pre Old Hollywood)

There's definitely improvements to be made however. I found a one of data dealer to be pretty dead now that I'm less inclined to sell agendas when I can leave them hosted on film critic.

If you can find influence for Fan Sites, Data Dealer is great, but you don't seem to be hurting for money so the cut makes sense. Maybe swap him for a single Gang Sign?

Fan site does work well with data dealer but as Iain you are already getting a benefit whenever the corp is scoring agendas. Gang sign could be a good inclusion, a one of might not get much leverage as you ideally want to see it before the corp starts scoring.

I think the main thing I want to alter is trying to squeeze in ways of getting setup faster, seeing a supplier early is pretty important as is getting breakers set up. So finding some way of keeping a copy of special order/hostage is a priority I think

Really liking how this looks, particularly using Iain econ to save inf on a codegate breaker. I think e3 Feedback Implants might be among the cards to cut in order to speed it up with Hostage or Special Order. It is only here for Peacock, and there are very few code gates to worry about with multiple subroutines. Even then, it is only saving you 1-2 credits each time. Data Dealer could also likely get the axe.

In playing the waiting game and with Iain's drip I wonder if Drug Dealer would be better draw power. He's also a connection so you might be able to Calling in Favors, but at that point the deck starts taking on a whole different focus.

Lastly, with Logos itself maybe one or a Dyson could also be trimmed? I'm trying to think of ways to get Drive By and/or Unregistered S&W '35 in here to stop CaprAsh.

E3 is definitely a card that could be cut, it's a remnant of an earlier version where the deck was running Overmind. That said I have found it can do work against eli's and making the peacock a bit cheaper. But if the deck gets setup faster it's usefulness would be less. I definitely think one or both of Logos/Dyson could be 2 ofs instead of 3s.

I think a drive by include would a really good idea. Like you say moving calling in favours would recquire more of a shift to connections to really make the most of it. I find most connections decks to be a bit too focused on drawing and installing connections and not enough on doing things to win the game.
