First published deck here, and honestly, I'm still quite new to Netrunner, having played less than 10 games. I've practiced making decks a lot though, and read through a reasonable amount of decks here on netrunnerdb. I'm looking to get better at it, so if you see that I did or said something dumb/questionable, tell me! I'll learn something new. I like learning.

(And also, this deck is entirely untested so.... yeah. If you do try it out, it'd be great if you tell me how it goes.)

The core offensive engine of this deck consists of, as you probably guessed, using Paintbrush to slap barrier on a piece of ice, riding it to the end of the server with Surfer, and then breaking it with either Quetzal's ability or Faust, combined with the almighty e3 Feedback Implants, (and then optionally trashing it with the help of Knifed). This should let you ENTIRELY ignore the strength of any ice, as well as any "on encounter" effects from all but the first piece of ice. (I'd be tempted to put Hunting Grounds in for extra jank points, but there's no influence room.)

Oh, and Medium for multiaccess, blah blah blah.

I do like that you don't actually need all of the different combo pieces in play to have at least some offensive capability. You can use Faust on its own to chew through ice, (works even better with e3), Paintbrush to turn on Quetzal's ability, (also better with e3) or even just facecheck ice and hope you hit a barrier. (Did I mention that e3 makes everything better?)

As far as costs & econ go, 38/45 of the cards in this deck cost 3 credits or less. The ones that cost more, (Earthrise Hotel, Liberated Account, and Sure Gamble), are econ cards with reasonably fast payback anyways. Scrubber, (man I love scrubber), and Imp are both amazing at threatening to trash everything the corp holds dear for pennies on the dollar. (And of course, Kati Jones is always there to pitch in.)

The base cost, (not counting a click to paint), to get through a server where n is pieces of ice and x is subs on the first piece is (n-1)*2 + (x - 1). So, a nightmare-inducing server of 3x Tollbooth costs 7c to get through including the first toll, (still hurts, but doable), while the least efficient servers will be the ones with a whole bunch of cheap ETR piled up.

Glares at Quandary, Ice Wall, Et al.

I was considering Vigil for a console, but then I realized that there'd probably be more benefit from Grimoires extra 2 MU and counters on Imp and Medium. (I could be wrong, never tried Vigil.)

Déjà Vu over Trope because I hate waiting around for important cards to come back.

And for defence against aggressive corps, I feel like 1x Plascrete Carapace, 3x I've Had Worse, 2x New Angeles City Hall to duck tags, and 1x Film Critic should work well enough to avoid being an overly easy kill. (I'm not entirely sure on the value of NACH, but it seems like it should be worth trying with D&D looming on the horizon. Again, I could be very wrong though.) Plus a one-of Hacktivist Meeting for getting rid of corp currents and/or punishing trap rezzes.

As a silver lining, defensive cards you don't need for a specific matchup can just be fed to Faust.

So there it is, a stupid newb deck! I'd love it if you tell me what you think! (Sorry if this description sounds overly basic, half of it is just me explaining the deck to myself, so to speak.)

Wouldn't a search be better than a second Paintbrush as its 4 influence and Self-modifying Code is only 3 and can be used with Déjà Vu for more search, alternatively you could go the Logos route but that has its own draw backs like having to wait for a score and no Grimoire then.
