1st Place | Summer Kit | Scorched Earth Policy

River 27

I entered this into a my local (Hartlepool, UK), store's Summer Kit championship. Although the turnout was smaller than I'd expected, I still came first and am happy with that.

Cardpool: 1 Core Set, Order and Chaos, Upstalk, The Source, The Underway and Old Hollywood.

This deck was build to deal with any and every threat I could possibly see coming from my local meta. There aren't any traps, so I had to bluff a lot, which I didn't mind.

There's a lot of ETR ICE, to make it nigh impossible for the runner to break through until they can get a Fracter / Decoder onto the field. So while they searched for Icebreakers, I was able to safely score my Utopia Fragment and then sit back and hyperadvance an Underway Renovation and mill through their decks. No-one had any way of recalling cards from their heap, so that made it easy.

Exposé is there to counter any bad publicity before it can get out of hand, especially as one opponent also ran a Valencia deck.

Cyberdex Virus Suite dealt with another player's Whizzard Virus/Trash deck smoothly.

Spiderweb and Enigma annoyed the hell out of the Valencia player using Faust to break through as he never had enough cards, so that server was safe to sit back and score from.

In two matches my Data Raven's in combination with Argus Security: Protection Guaranteed's ability ensured a double Scorched Earth victory.

Lotus Field is there to stop Parasites / Ice Carver and saved me on more than one occasion.

Taurus worked very well against another player who decided to use The Toolbox and 3 Cyberfeeder's.

Again, I didn't lose a single match with these and they performed very well. This deck seems to be lacking slightly on offense though, which I'm trying to fix. Snare! anyone?

Any help or advice you folks could give would, as always, be appreciated! :)
