Sunny Side Up V.01

Conspiracy 8

The secret to a good omelette is that you have to break a few eggs. The secret to better eggs is knowing how to cook them without breaking the yolk. Welcome to Sunny-Side Up

I believe the strength in this particular Sunny Lebeau: Security Specialist build comes from four things in particular: her breaker suite (GS Striker M1, GS Shrike M2, GS Sherman M3), her console Security Nexus, her coworker, Jak Sinclair, and her credentials, Globalsec Security Clearance.

Our mission is simple, scout agendas with Globalsec Security Clearance, potentially run on them with Jak Sinclair, utilizing Sunny's console, Security Nexus, and if we can't get through without programs we bust down the door to R&D (or any other server) with a Sherman tank.

To get to that point however, we're going to need a few things.

  1. Credits. Money. Moolah. Dough. Doughnuts. Mmmmmm Donuts: Our econ is pretty standard, in fact its a bit over the top and probably needs to be trimmed some at the time of this writing (September 15th, 2015).

* As far as pure econ goes we have: Sure Gamble, Armitage Codebusting, Daily Casts, and Underworld Contact.
* Then we have some econ that either has some other condition, or other ability tacked onto it. We're looking at cards like Dirty Laundry, Trade-In, Compromised Employee, Security Testing, Symmetrical Visage, or Multithreader. These additional effects and conditions allow us to spend more time running and less time waiting till we can afford to run.

  1. Gear. Sunny's hardware benefits from a lot of neutral hardware that was printed in previous packs, all of which are included to utilize Security Nexus to it's fullest potential.
  • Security Nexus does everything we want it to: it lets us run with relative impunity, gives us additional link and memory. Its a cost is a little bit steep compared to some other consoles, but the benefit it's giving us more than makes up for it.
  • Dyson Mem Chip More link and more memory. Not absolutely necessary, but the link enables us to dodge more tags, and the memory is only going to help Overmind. It's also not a bad target for Trade-In in a pinch, but we'll get to that in a moment.
  • Rabbit Hole Rabbit Hole likely won't survive the final round of cuts, but the ability to add 2 additional link for 4 credits on two different bodies that can be traded-in is something I think we'll be able to utilize.
  • Plascrete Carapace Duh.
  • Security Chip is a tricky little devil that will win some games out of nowhere for you, especially if you trade in for it.
  1. Wetware: The software that lets Sunny do her thing and be home in time for dinner:
  • Her breaker suite is nice in that it's not very expensive to break a number of subs, and doesn't take up any memory, which is what exactly what we need when we want something a little more generalized. I am of course, talking about:
  • Overmind Given the amount of unspent memory we'll have in our rig across the Dyson Mem Chip and Security Nexus we'll have the power counters when we need them. Lets us put our credits to use in other places.
  • Disrupter A two-of that likely will drop to one before the cuts are complete, Disrupter works well with Security Nexus to negate any potential downside of starting a trace with such a high cost.
  • Multithreader works wonders in this particular build, likely will be bumped to a full 3 when we find the space for them.
  1. Everything else:
  • Trade-In lets us tutor up whatever piece of hardware we need in the early, middle, and late game. Early we're looking for our Security Nexus, middle and late we're looking at Plascrete Carapaces and Security Chips.
  • We're going to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge tags (and pesky Sea Sources) with New Angeles City Hall.
  • We're looking to keep New Angeles City Hall in play by hosting any agendas we find on Film Critic.
  • Employee Strike is there to slow the corp down and potentially clear a troublesome current. Can also win a game out of nowhere when your opponent was counting on their Haarpsichord ability to stem the bleeding.
  • I've Had Worse is some additional card draw and doubles as a potential third carapace.
  • Jak Sinclair has some great synergy with Security Testing, it's a shame Testing is 3 influence.
  • Adjusted Chronotype is there because who doesn't like pancakes. More importantly though, it's there because pancakes basically gives us an additional click each turn when combined with Globalsec Security Clearance! That little bit of knowledge goes a long way toward how we utilize the aforementioned Jak Sinclair. We don't have to waste a click running R&D in the hope we hit something useful.
  • Other stuff: It's there to fill a perceived need. We'll see how necessary those cards become.

I'm sure all of this is straight forward to you, so let me know what you think should be cut, or that I've completely forgotten about. Tell me just how bad of a card Rabbit Hole is, and tell me just how many cards I'm wasting on Link. I'll get back to you just as soon as I'm done with breakfast.

Multiaccess? Perhaps a HQ Interface would compliment the Globalsec Security Clearance to pressure two servers at once.

Sunny seems like a "run once a turn and make it count" kinda gal, which means you will need some sustainable way to pressure the corp, and an interface is an influence-cheap way to do it.

@pang4 I agree. I'm not sure if we're going to want HQ or RnD interface. Sunnys suite seems well suited to establishing a lock.

Why not both? One of each could do major work of pressuring whichever server is less protected with the help of Trade-In, no?

Employee strike and film critic seem to accomplish a lot of the same things. Props if you get disrupter to work, but it prevents a trace before the corp spends their creds so even with security nexus it is kind of a waste.

@pang4I'd rather go double on one or the other so there's less of a dead draw later. It's certainly going to require some experimentation though.

@MrAaronSAIt's a safety valve that this deck can really use. It also acts as a soft Midseason Replacements deterrent.

-2 Disrupter +2 Power Tap

So much better to get paid instead 'just' preventing cost.
