Sol Sucking Grail: The Tale of Sir Galahad's Six Subroutines

slobad31 584

Just trying something a little different, utilizing Grail and TL;DR to make an obnoxious amount of subroutines for the runner to deal with. Red Herrings and Midway Station Grid are for even more tax, with Reversed Accounts as an option to keep them poor. I wanted to test Cerebral Static as the current, since it seems like it would seriously hamper the majority of runners. It is worth noting, however, that there are five runners against which this current will be effectively useless: Adam, Andromeda, Sunny, The Professor, and Valencia. However, it's my hope that the tax will still be sufficient in those scenarios. I'd love to hear any comments and suggestions, as this seems like it could be pretty fun. Thanks in advance :)

This looks pretty sweet, Slo. :) Probably the only thing I can think of doing differently would be dropping 1 Reversed Accounts and tossing in a 3rd Jackson Howard...but that's certainly personal preference.

Oh, also...am I to understand that with this ID's ability, that if the runner steals an agenda and you have a Current in play, that the Current goes away and immediately comes back due to the ability firing? Or do you have to finesse it and purposely discard a Current so that the ability can fire?

Thanks, dude! From what I understand, you can immediately replay the current that was trashed, in this case, maintaining a lockdown on the runner's ID ability. I think I will take your suggestion for another Jackson, though, as this could use more draw.

The way I think it works is, both the condition present on all current operations and the condition required for NAS fire from the same trigger, and both effects are under your control. You resolve them in the order you wish, so on agenda steal you trash the current and then re-play it via NAS.

It could also be that the current is trashed immediately before any other effects are played, but this also allows the Cerebral Static lock. I've yet to see a ruling in the opposite direction, regardless.

@FarCryFromHuman Said much more eloquently than I managed, but that's how I also interpreted it. I'm just thrilled by the prospect of blanking runners whose abilities play such a major role!

Brb, making an Apex deck with non-virtual resources as a hard counter to this deck. >.>

Ha!

@FarCryFromHumanu forgot that annoying and busy guy.

And I love this deck idea. I'd like more with 2 biotic over grails but I love this.

@SlayerCNV I suppose I did leave ol' Noise out of the fun! If you did want to run the Biotics, Little Engine is in-faction to work well with TL;DR. Influence is too tight, but Spiderweb could be pretty fun, too.

Given you're setting up a taxing server, what about launch campaigns over. pad campaigns? And perhaps in place of private contracts as well?

@sruman I could see slotting in Launch Campaign over PAD Campaign, but its trash cost is a bit too low for my liking compared to Private Contracts. I figured Private Contracts would be a higher priority to trash, with a significantly higher trash cost and payout. Granted, it's click intensive, but I like the "money on demand" aspect of it. That may change with more testing, though, so thanks for the suggestion :)
