Chronos Control 2.1

So this is an updated version of a previously published deck, having played a few games, here is my current take on a Chronos Protocol: Selective Mind-mapping deck.

The strategy of this deck is simple, trigger the corp ability as much as possible through the use of various pieces of ICE (Yagura , Data Mine and so on), score out House of Knives early as possible and use that to continue the fun! Using the corp ability to pick out any icebreakers or recursion the runner has in his grip. This will put the runner in the rough position of not having his complete rig, and having fewer and fewer chances to get stuff back.

Then at some point I tend to build a semi taxing server with a Blacklist to prevent all recursion. I tend to try and protect it with a Quandary but have found this not always needed... putting it behind something like a Komainu or a Mamba is enough to scare off the runner... and if he doesn't, just use the net damage to remove the most useful thing in there grip.

Targeted Marketing is great and preventing the runner from playing something if you had to target something else more important in there grip. If they do get desperate and play it, it rewards you! Another way to play it, especially if you get Targeted Marketing in early game, play it and aim to hit the runners Econ cards (often just saying Sure Gamble is great!) This will slow down the runner which benefits this deck (if they can't play Sure Gamble to afford themselves a ice breaker, they have to keep it in hand...). If they get desperate and play it, it rewards you!

After a lot of play with this deck, I tend to find if the runner gets out Ice breakers before you can set up your traps, this will really hurt you. It's why I splashed in two Power Shutdown. I've yet to play with it in the deck, but the fact that I don't have to wait for the runner to run at me to get rid of something is perfect! With Crick in play I can hopefully get any important ICE or upgrades back out, without having to use Jackson Howard saving him for other important things!

Archer I have put in to replace the Ichi 1.0 that I used to run. I prefer sacrifice an already spent House of Knives than have a runner just click through the Ichi.

It was suggested that I try replacing a House of Knives for a Chronos Project. While yes a well timed scoring of Chronos Project will get rid of everything the runner had forever, I prefer sticking with Blacklist. And while Black List is up, it will counter the Chronos Project effect, making the agenda only useful at certain times.

That's basically the deck in it's latest form, happy to have any feedback on the deck, and will continue to test and update this!

Komainu seems a bit anti-synergistic with your ability; if it fires, they will drop their entire hand no matter what. The only good thing is that you will overload their Parasites, since there are way too many targets for them :)

I played against a very similar deck with a Faust-Reina, and then piloted it in order to check my opponent's Leela. It was really funny to lock down a server with only a Data Mine, or prevent running altogether after a Celebrity Gift showing triple Neural EMPs.

@M1ke Komainu is actually pretty strong for when you haven't been able to get rid of there Sentry Icebreaker. Either they're going to pay all the way through, which depending on the deck, could be expensive or I get some Net damage in.

If it fires off because they haven't got a Sentry Icebreaker... IF i have a House of Knives that's game over for the runner.

Naming Hedge Fund with targeted marketing would be a pretty bad idea, since runners can't put that card in their decks.

@robofrogg you are correct in that... I meant Sure Gamble but confused myself due to talking about a corp deck and corp deck cards... cheers for pointing that out!

"the fact that I don't have to wait for the runner to run at me to get rid of something is perfect!"

Not quite ;)

"Power Shutdown Operation: Gray Ops • Cost: 1 • Influence: 2 Play only if the Runner made a run during his or her last turn."

@CobraBubbles Oh no of course I more mean that I don't have to wait for them to hit a trash program ice...
