Shaper Bullshit: The Deck

Stonewick 132

Use shaper bullshit to do shaper bullshit things.

Ideal hand is Diesel, Aesop's Pawnshop, Technical Writer, Cache, Self-modifying Code.

Use Sahasrara to pay for installing things on Scheherazade. This adds a counter to Technical Writer and lets you pawn the installed thing next turn. Dont use Scheherazade if you fear program trashing (mainly power shutdown).

With two Sahasrara installed and extra MU you can use the Sahasrara bucks and Hayley ability to"Mopus" by installing two Chameleon on Scheherazade. When your turn ends, they bounce back, and you conserve cards in your hand.

Gotta give credit to a buddy of mine, Trustan for coming up with the main concept for the deck. This version is just a slightly tweaked version of his (which he'll unfortunately never get around to publishing).

Looks really strong, similar to my Hayley deck in many ways. I know a lot of the differences are down to personal preference and experience, but I have some small questions that might help the next version of my deck: 1- Why symmetrical visage instead of pro-co? 2- Why only 2 writers when you need to get it out early 3- How have you been finding d4v1d instead of a similar influence card like imp? Thanks for publishing this, I am going to try out 1 or 2 sahasrara for sure :)

So what I wonder: If you trash harbringer with Aesops and install it facedown, does your Hayley ability trigger?

Wait...that would be huge, retriggering Hayley, Scheherazade and technical writer, has this been clarified?

If i remember correctly the FAQ stated that face down cards lose all types, so its not a program any more for scheherazade and tech writer, and none of the cards in your hand will share a type with it for Hayley. I would think that it would use up Hayley's trigger though it it's the first installed card that turn.

On the actual deck, i like it reminds me of the trash diver decks which are good. Im curious on memory though with so many programs that want to stay out, do you find yourself short on memory much?

Yeah I just looked through the stimhack thread on Hayley, that actually hurts Hayley a lot, wasting her trigger on a typeless card :( I think its clear now that cache is the better aesops food, but I might keep 2x harbinger for some more constant economy.

yeah, its still good to sell on a turn you dont think you'll use the ability anyway or to keep around to protect sheherezade from power shutdowns

I would probably play a parasite over 2xHarbringer instead.

This is really strong. My version runs Drug Dealer instead of Symetrical Visage, and instead of medium 2 RD interfaces. i also run 3 LISD Processors for chameleon and took out atman,Zu and sharpshooter instead. There is so much to do in every turn, crazy. I often forget to play optimally but i still win. For instance, i forget to use aesop for harbinger or cache, or to take those credits off Sahasara after install because J-net messes everything up once they are installed on Scheherazade. So many possibilities, especially when you pilot it better than me. Ps: i also got New Angeles City hall in there as all round protection, its awesome against so many Threads. Allows you to run with low credits and give early aggression. Very important

@shmeguy Symmetrical Visage is cheaper to install and lends itself better to the deck, since Professional Contacts generally wants to be used multiple times a turn. The symmetrical visage draw is enough, and allows for the other clicks to be used to install other cards and run. D4v1d really helps deal with the big ice that is tough for the rest of the programs in the deck to deal with, and the deck usually makes enough money as to where just paying for the trash costs of things isn't a huge deal as opposed to sing #imp.

@mcpba I dont think that Harbinger triggers the Hayley ability because cards installed facedown wouldn't be considered to be active. At least, that's how I've played it.

@Giles I've never really had memory issues. The programs I have installed while playing are always moving between the heap and being installed (similar to the trash diving decks). Generally, just pawn programs I dont immediately or intend to use any time soon. The programs I keep out for the game are 1 Scheherazade, and 2 Sahasrara. Everything else for the most part is pretty fluid, but is mainly dependent upon what ice the corp presents to you. Chameleon deals with quite a bit, and can be installed midrun with the Hayley ability to deal with ice you dont have answers to immediately.

@mcpba I did play Parasite initially, It felt too slow waiting for it to tick down without Datasucker.

@fiveplus5is55 Thank you! Drug Dealer is interesting, although I've never had a lack of draw while playing the deck. It also just feels odd to me to pay influence for draw in shaper. While I love R&D Interface, I prefer the Medium in Hayley simply for the ability to install it out of hand before accessing from R&D. Also, I know that feeling with J-net not being able to handle Scheherazade hosting Sahasrara!

Sleeving up something very similar to this as we speak and I wonder: What if we could find room for nerve agent?

Imp would be really nice as well.

regarding your comment on imp: the deck may have enough money, but imp is really useful if you are trying to get more out of your medium dig, destroy dangerous cards like SEA source, scorched, neural emp or just increase the odds of seeing new cards in HQ if you are running more than once.
