Oh freddled gruntbuggly,
Thy micturations are to me
As plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee.
Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes,
And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles,
Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts
With my blurglecruncheon, see if I don't!"

-- Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Derivative of Diogene's Poetic Justice. Check their notes for pilot advice. Diogene's list grabbed my attention the morning of the event. I rolled the dice and learned to play it in swiss. I'd been workshopping Hyoubu Institute: Absolute Clarity but scrubbed it due to the dominantly better but similar AU Co's flooding the meta.

Shout outs to heliopolix, FAC3L355, Thomas Haas, and everyone else who traveled in to Denver for the event. Your passion for the game is inspiring.

This deck plays at warp 9 or bust. It is for the unhinged. The gamblers. The shell game diehards. Put on your headphones, press play on some Vogon classics, and install as many cards as the universe permits you. RLC into Humanoid Resources into Top-Down Solutions is my new love language.

I'm calling this deck undefeated; deal with it. I tied with Thomas Haas in losers' finals 6-6 and they advanced on higher seed. It was the only game of the weekend where I didn't draw the cards to strap a rocket to my back and light the fuse.

Tournament report

  • R2 W vs Limes (control Maggy w/ completely correct The Wizard’s Chest includes)
  • R4 W vs heliopolix (good stuff Sable)
  • R5 W vs NeuralShock (deep dive Sable)

My 3 corp games in Swiss followed a common theme. Force the runner to choose touching remotes or rigging up. I usually scored up to 4 with shell game or an early Scatter Field to protect agenda, Otto Campaign, or Wage Workers. Scoring Aggressive Trendsetting early is hilarious when runners find Mr. Hendrik and have nothing but terrible choices.

Cut started with Poetri vs Thomas Haas (control Maggy). The intergalactic freight train opened on turn 1 and didn't let up. I scored twice while shaper did shaper things. I bonked them with a Measured Response to reset runner tempo and scored out soon after that. Thankfully the deck's pace closed out well before Hannah entered the chat.

I met Thomas again in losers' finals for a rematch. Scotty was replacing dilithium crystals or something because this was the only game of the event where I didn't blast off early. I tossed 4 points in the bin to see if I could find 2 Measureds, but Thomas contested and forced me to Spin them back before that happened. In hindsight, I think the better play would have been to drop one on the board at a time, pray on access odds, and either score unchallenged or dig for the second Measured on full throttle. My Poetri edge quickly dulled as Hannah and Azimat both arrived early to challenge an iceless board the rest of the game. As round timer neared, I was up 4-0, put a 3/2 on the board, and let fate take the wheel. Thomas found 2 points in HQ, 4 more on a Deep Dive, and ultimately advanced on a 6-6 tie with higher seed. I had a great time watching him puzzle it out. That I pulled 6 points out of the event horizon is a testament to the deck's strengths when you commit.

Try out Poetri. It's all the rage.
