Brains Damaged

Cantor 2

This is my latest version of the HB brain damage/negative hand size deck. The idea is to use Defective Brainchips, Ryon Knight, and Self-Destruct Chips etc. to get the runner down to a small hand size and then kill them. I've tested a little, and found I was struggling to keep up the money to rez my ice, pay for Knight, Cerebral Overwriter, etc. so I added the Beanstalk Royalties and Green Level Clearance.

The biggest thing that bothers me is spending so much influence on Chairman Hiro, but it's one way to shrink the runner's hand size at any time, and can win the game alone once you've done some combo of three brain damage, or scored Self-Destruct Chips.

I'd appreciate any thoughts.

Your stuff seems pretty expensive for such a low economy. I think I'd either add more economy or get some cheaper ICE. Viktor 2.0 isn't going to do any brain damage if you can't afford to rez him, let alone boost the trace. Same goes for Ichi 1.0. They're both great ICE, you just need to be able to pay for them. I know that deck space is rare, but cutting the Hedge Funds wouldn't be my first choice...

Another thing is the 3-of current. I know it's vital to your strategy, but setting up a current for 2 should be something you're only doing when it's not easy for the runner to steal an agenda, so you need to set up at least basic defense first.

And Ryon, well... He can only be used when the runner has no unspent and there are two ways to achieve that, either they run last click (which they simply won't do against your ID!) or you tax them clicks during the run. Maybe a surprise Hourglass rez that noone expects to ever see? Or other click draining ICE like Enigma or Viper. Something that punishes them for running with clicks left.

I don't know, maybe -1 Brainchips, -1 Ryon, +2 Archived Memories? If you need them more often, fine, get them back, but you also have the choice of getting back Adonis or trashed ICE, or ambushes...

@Krams Thanks for the tips. I'm going to use the deck as it is in a small tourney this weekend, since it's in a form I'm familiar with. After the tourney, I'll take your advice into account alongside the tourney results.

I had more click drain in an earlier version of the deck, but I found I was landing plenty of Brainchips+Ryon Knight combos without even using it.
