Is Capstone a Good Card?

Answer: No

But you can still try and have fun with it anyways!

Only triplicates of everything to ensure maximum Capstone draw (minus 1x Freelance Coding Contract, since 40 is not divisible by 3). Mostly included cards that you only want 1x of on the board, but that you need multiples of in your deck to ensure consistency (3x of breakers, Kati, Film Critic, Net-Ready Eyes, etc). Modded helps you get out breakers early or threaten multi-access.

You can actually get an okay draw engine going once you get a few things installed, churning through 5 to 10 cards in a turn if you're digging. Once you get set up with breakers and an acceptable amount of multi-access, just stop drawing and go for money/server locks. Mostly though this is just a fun way to try and use a binder card.

Glad to see someone else showing love for Capstone!

I think Brain Cage would work really well in this deck. A larger hand size means you can hold more useless cards and churn through your deck even faster, and with all the redundancy you're already playing losing a card to brain damage is basically nothing.

There are some other weird card choices for this deck as well. Like, Kati Jones is pretty redundant if you have Magnum Opus, but Sure Gamble never stops being good.

Also, not a huge fan of Femme Fatale as the only sentry breaker. Even with a Net-Ready Eyes helping you boost strength, breaking something like an Assassin or an Archer is still too damn high.

I think the idea of putting in 3x of exactly the rig you want and digging with Capstone is workable in a casual setting, but you still have to have a rig that's worth playing.

I think Brain Cage could have a place, but it might necessitate more draw power to really get the most out of the card. Since Capstone doesn't actually increase the number of cards in your hand, but rather replaces cards already there, it might end up draining your clicks to fill up your hand and take advantage of the card.

Kati was definitely cards 37-40, so I could see changing her out. I ended up being ok with including her because our only tool for getting out Opus is a 40 card deck. Having an additional economy card means that you're not dead in the water if Mopus is 20 cards down in your deck. Plus it is competitive/better than Opus per click when you're getting into the 5-click range (granted, obviously credits now are better than credits later). Having both on the field definitely has a bit of redundancy, but I don't think that they're anti-synergistic.

I don't particularly like Sure Gamble in this deck. If you're drawing with Capstone, it's because you want to find pieces (i.e. not make money). If you want money you should be clicking Opus. Clicking to draw and playing a Gamble puts you no further than clicking Opus twice, but costs you a deck slot. The biggest advantage of Sure Gamble is being able to turn 1 Gamble-Opus, but that isn't a big enough advantage for me personally to run it in this deck.

Femme could definitely be swapped, although you'd have to sacrifice HQ pressure. This might be acceptable, although I'd still want to keep at least one Legwork. I imagine that the best alternative would be Sunny's breaker. The influence would work out, so this probably makes sense. This decklist was actually made before D&D came out - so that might actually be a good change to make.
