The Most Important Meal of the Day...

... is the Devil's Pancakes.

This deck came about as a result of me fighting with Sunny's 50 card deck size. All of the good draw costs influence, which could basically either be spent on that or better breakers. I constantly found that I need three copies of a card if I wanted to see it reliably, which left me with tons of dead cards. Additionally, if games went long, I dominated late game, but any kind of fast advance or rush deck just killed me. Her breakers are SO expensive, both to play and use, that I really needed to find something else for early agro. The combination of dead cards, needing an early agro breaker, and needing to primarily spend influence on draw led me to Faust Wyldcakes. It's the best draw in the game and incredibly good early agro.

To address another Sunny-specific deck type and my decision: I've seen a lot of other Sunny decks basically decide that Security Nexus was simply too expensive to use (like Blackguard or Monolith). I understand that reasoning, but disagree completely. Nexus is the cheapest breaker in the game, period. You have to HAVE the money - but unless the corp is willing to bankrupt themselves, you don't have to SPEND it. My solution to the play cost is Kati. I find her semi-early and charge her a few times. Along with the rest of the money in this deck, I find that Nexus immediately becomes playable. It obviates the need for Hunting Grounds, anti-anti-AI breakers (like Mimic or Cyber-Cypher for Swordsman and Turing), and protection against Komainu (since I'm running Faust, that card is awful).

How the deck plays: -Early game, I walk through low-ice servers with Faust. When possible, I get Globalsec Security Clearance & Jak Sinclair on the table, which allows me to make targeted strikes on R&D instead of deep digs and shows me how to avoid traps. If I find Adjusted Chronotype before Wyldside, it still gives me the click from Globalsec back. -Mid game, I finish whichever combo parts I don't have. Eventually, Nexus, Jak, Globalsec, Wyldside, Adjusted Chronotype, and Faust (with as many money cards as possible) is the set up I want. Helpfully, most of these cards do something good without the rest of them. -Late game, Sunny rules the board. I reliably make minimum 6 credits at the start of my turn. I know what the corp is drawing, and I know when it's worth breaking into R&D. Nexus gets me through either one expensive piece of ice or something Faust can't break, and Faust does the rest. If I run out of cards, I have her faction-specific breakers and constant recurring credits to keep me going. It's extremely difficult to tag me late game because I reliably win traces, which makes meat flatlining me nearly impossible (losing to a 24/7 + Breaking News + double Scorched is why I added the New Angeles). If the game gets to this point, I usually win.

There's one card in this list that's a proxy for a spoiled future card. For tournaments etc., Dyson Mem Chip is replaced by Access to Gloablsec. I can't WAIT until Sports Hopper comes out for real. It's SO GOOD.

Dyson Mem Chip = Sports Hopper (+1, Draw 3 cards.)

I think this deck is one of the best decks I've ever built, and it's the only one I've ever published. It surprises me that more people aren't using Faust in Sunny. If you see notable flaws or have suggestions, I truly want to hear them. Thanks!

Faust + Breakfast is good anywhere. There's no specific reason this framework isn't usually played out of Sunny, but probably a lot of little reasons.

The two big things most people prioritize Sunny's influence on is draw/tutoring, and multiaccess. The former especially because her deck is so damn big, and the latter because there's very few runners that can win reliably without any central multiaccess whatsoever.

The way your influence is spent, you have 0 multiaccess tools, and only 3 cards (in 50) that will get you through the deck faster - Wyldside. You might be able to get away with Globalsec Security Clearance instead of multiacess, but you definitely can't roll with almost zero draw power or tutors. Faust only "speeds you up" if you can actually find him and fuel him, so your deck is only really going to go fast if you have him and Wyldside very early, so you're relying on a really nice opening hand (Wyldside being a 100% keeper even if the rest of it is garbage).

Another small reason is that her ID ability and in-faction cards all encourage a specific strategy based around . Although her cloud breakers are very expensive to use, they give you 4 free to toss in powerful support programs like Datasucker or Multithreader. Aside from the Data Foldings, it doesn't really seem like you're taking advantage of that.

If you're set on the idea, an alteration I might make is to replace two of the Fausts with tutors like Self-modifying Code or Special Order. This, while slightly less efficient early, will allow you to get out your early Faust just as reliably, but also allow you to drag up your other programs later.

Thank you so much for your comment, @Bigguyforyou518! I entirely agree that not finding Faust is a problem. I find it hard to explain (given that you're spot on in your comments about that), but once in over twenty games I struggled to find Wyldside, and once I have that, Faust reliably appears. As soon as Sports Hopper comes out, my draw will improve significantly for sure. In the meanwhile, on your suggestion, I think I'll drop Security Testing and Tri-maf Contact for two Special Order. Also, I know that many people use Multithreader with her breakers to good effect... but given the initial cost of finding & playing her three breakers & at least two Multithreader, I find Faust is reliably on the table and breaking things faster than that.

You're right about the multi-access as well, but Globalsec Security Clearance has benefits multi-access does not. It doesn't risk Snare!, Archangel, etc., and I don't waste credits getting into a server only to find nothing. Additionally, Netrunner is a game of hidden knowledge - reliable information about HQ & an earlier idea of the deck strategy is invaluable. It's cheap, can be played first turn, and unless the Corp can trash resources, there's nothing they can do about it. Medium both takes awhile to build and can be wiped; R&D Interface is expensive and slow to find them all.

The last reply I have is about Sunny Lebeau: Security Specialist's abilities. Valencia Estevez: The Angel of Cayambe at first glance seems like she should go heavily into bad publicity tricks (like Blackmail etc.), and indeed, that's one of the ways to play her. However, many people have begun playing her as great early agro, hardly using the bad pub at all, because it saves so much money early game. If you look at Sunny Lebeau: Security Specialist's cards a little longer, they're not just about using cloud breakers; they're about getting really, really good cards down early and cheaply. The benefit to her trace mechanic is just a bonus. If I were going in for a different breaker suite, it indeed would be silly not to use Datasucker and Multithreader. However, I've gone in for a different part of her strategy... which is having the same tools as the corp at her disposal. Many other runners can drop programs fast; one or a few and you can do with better breakers what other Sunny Lebeau: Security Specialist decks are doing, and probably more cheaply. No one else has tools like Sunny Lebeau: Security Specialist's for corp interaction: She knows what the corp is doing and when. Trace is laughable mid-game on. Every turn, running is automatic and easy (crab decks get very frustrated at how much I know what they're doing). Tollbooth? 0 credits. Curtain Wall? Same thing. I personally feel that yes, her can save her ... but it's really all about being in the corp's head - being 'linked' to them. It's incredibly thematic.

It obviously takes away from the idea of your deck, but wouldn't -3 Chronotype, -3 Wyldside, -3 Something Else, +3 Drug Dealer, +3 Career Fair, +3 Earthrise Hotel not serve you better? It also leaves you 6 influence for other uses (e.g. R&D Interface, Film Critic to help keep you NACH around,...,...).

I do like Faust in Sunny though as you have to pack in so many duplicates.

Thanks for commenting @Phoenix!

I actually tried that for awhile, though not with Career Fair (I don't remember what I was using the other influence on). I could go into greater detail, but the cost/benefit of Earthrise Hotel just never worked the way I needed it to, and the recurring loss with Drug Dealer hurt the most at the time I needed Drug Dealer the most. I think it's absolutely a solid draw option for other Sunny Lebeau: Security Specialist builds (especially ones that need the influence for Special Order, Modded, Self-modifying Code, & Multithreader), but with Faust it just felt like too much cost for not enough draw... and (if you can't tell) I do love Faust in this.

I'm with you with Drug Dealer. You need a reasonable surplus of drip for the running cost of dealer, or else you're still just spending a click to draw each turn. Other options have been Quality Time or Street Peddler, but those you would want a good pile of money and/or willing to risk losing key cards. Other options cost more influence; I can see Mr. Li make good use of just pure cycle. Professional Contacts sounds viable as well, but it's setup cost is prohibitive.

Angel Arena could be am answer with, Tri-maf Contact or Magnum Opus.

Thanks @AsteriskCGY and @SlayerCNV!

Mr. Li & Angel Arena are both good suggestions; I think they might work better in a normal Sunny Lebeau: Security Specialist than a lot of the other draw options. (I never tried Angel Arena - I didn't remember it existed. It's also pretty expensive to set up, though). I have Symmetrical Visage instead of Professional Contacts since I'm unlikely to use it more than once a turn anyway. I had Magnum Opus for awhile, but it's also expensive for early game and unnecessary for late game. I'm not arguing that there's no way to make a big-rig with Sunny Lebeau: Security Specialist's breakers work at all. It didn't work for my playstyle, and fighting with it led me to this other option. I'm more looking for reasons this shouldn't work or means to improve a Faust build than ways I could have used filter or different draw without resorting to Faust.

Also before anyone mentions it, Paige Piper was my favorite filtering solution before I started playing Faust
